Some more progress this morn...

Managed to belt sand off the PL and get the transom ready for Spar Varnish this weekend:

I also remembered this time to mark the ribs (although I called them stringers on the side of the gunwale!:

Finally, I was able to get the doublers screwed and glued to the floor pieces. I also cut out the floatation foam where the doublers will sit.

I also gave another quick coat of white paint to the bottom of the boat and lower transom + transom braces just to make it look Purdy!

So... Given my advanced age now... I think that I am at the point of being ready to spar the floor and transom. So, all being well, I will pull the boat out, tarp it and utilize the whole garage this time round to spar everything. 2 coats all around and then install time!

Looks like it never happened! Beware of squeaking foam. Looks like you're doing a flat floor, is that a modification you're doing or was yours designed that way?

Thanks LL! Foam squeak is there a bit... and no it was not originally a flat floor. But the Z channel down the center is rock solid and I am riveting the floor to the ribs as usual. Should be solid. To go flat, it raises the floor less than 2" for the first 5 feet from the transom braces and then gradually rises up to about 6" under the bow.... more floatation = good. Less legroom not as good! But, flat floor was the request. So flat floor it is!

You can eliminate all squeaking by laying down a piece of 4 mil plastic sheet on top of the foam before you fasten the wood deck down. My floor is only 1/4" ply, so it squeaked a lot, but not at all with the plastic sandwich. Looks like yours is thicker ply, so may not squeak so much.

Alrighty.... more forward progresso! Had to improvise a rather goddy looking cover as it is predicted to rain for the next few days (which means it will be sunny and summer like!

Keeps it dry... but I realized my tarps were rather "holy"... so I had to triple them up and put the board on top to try and re-direct fluids!
I also... dummy me... forgot the little piece of the floor right in the bow! So... I will have to spar it up later...

Got the first coat of spar on the floors both sides except for the last half of one side of one pc! Ran out of spar varnish!

So... another coat early this week and then I'll bring the boat back in and rivet the floor to the boat! Then it is back to the interior work which is really what I looking forward to!!

I missed the wooden trailer...very cool; I'm probably going to steal this concept! Are there any casters in the middle?

Thanks man! No casters in the middle... just 2 at the back and 1 at the front. Pretty solid... I'm in and out of the boat all the time. Rolls easily and keeps it low so that I can get in and out with out issue. Steal away!!

Second coat of Spar went on this evening... so just waiting until I get the rivets to get the boat back in and then the floor can be riveted in place.

I will need to spar the little triangle piece at the front as well.

Next up A: Transom will get installed and bolted in place.

Next up B: Splashwell fixed --- remember there is a 3/4" hole IN the splashwell for ---ummmm --- drainage! Then I will install it back in and begin the interior work (I think... trying to remember if there was anything else that I need to get done first --- wiring will get done BEFORE all of the interior work is installed and screwed or riveted in place.
