That's a real drag to have to redo some work that you've just done. Look at it this way, you're helping lots of people who read this thread in the future. When I was touring the used boat circuit last year, I came across more than one aluminum boat with pressure-treated it in. It does eat aluminum. Good job on your response to it.

And hey, just when life gives you lemons.... you get a free 34' camper, ya bastid. congrats on the score.

Matt, thanks for all the support. Yeah the camper is a score of a lifetime. Just a little bit of work on it and bang. It will look good as new.

That is going to look awesome. Makes me wish I could quickly strip everything out of mine and flip it over!! Yeah there's a reason mine is still beige on the bottom.

Oh yeah while my luck is good. I got another great deal yesterday. Of course i need something to pull that beast. I am a cable tech and was at a customers house. I was just chatting and said to him that i was looking for a vehicle like his to pull my camper. His is the same length and a year older. Well he told me he would sell it to me Hmmmmm. Ok i'll bite. ( how much i said)... $500.00 yep $500.00 it runs great. Towes like a biotch... Its a 1990 Chevy suburban immaculate inside and out. Here is the pic i have of it. I know..I know... Lucky SOB. right Matt...:D:D

well, yeah man, you are a lucky SOB. Send some of that Mojo over here, would ya? 500 clams for THAT tow rig? Nice. The camper ain't too shabby either. Congrats again!

Oh, hey, I didn't mean to imply that you wouldn't make fishing season - I meant that I won't if I keep on at the pace I'm going! You are WAY closer to launching than I am.

If you start getting random "strangers" coming up and rubbing on you for no apparent reason, don't be surprised :p

Looks like the whole thing is coming together!

Re: 1965 Starcraft Project *****GOD HELP ME*****

Well guys I guess its been quit a while since i have been on here. I have had a few family issues i had to deal with. Again I am sorry. Ok so on the past few weeks i have still been working on the boat. I sprayed the hull and it looks killer. I completely rebuilt the trailer sanded it down to bare metal primed and painted. All new grade 8 bolts. The bad news is when i went to pull the hubs off the axle to sand the axle the inner race bearing on one of the splines was frozen and grooved the spindle to a point that it can not be saved. The good news is that i made a phone call to my brother in frustration and told him what i found and believe it or not he had a neighbor with a boat trailer in his back yard and all he wanted for it was for me to go pick it up. So add another lucky stroke for me.

Ok, back to the boat. I am almost done at this point. I have rebuilt the transom, floor, seats. I have added a platform in the front with access doors and built a new console. Fiberglassed it all in and have decided to put carpet down just as an added luxury. I know it will only last a few years but hey it made the wife happy. I couldnt hide all the holes from old attachments on the top of the gunnel and nose so i carpeted them as well. I will take a few picks on saturday and post them. I figure that on Saturday it should be the last full work day on the boat and except for sea trials it will be complete. Oh and in another stroke of good luck i picked up a 9hp outboard from a neighbor for $50.00 yeah i think soon one of you guys are gunna come here and beat my arss for all the good luck i have had on this boat project. Well back to wrork on the boat.
