Strung up a tarp last night over the boat for a makeshift work area:

Ahhhhh... I keep forgetting about the powder.

The itch isn't too bad as the temps were right about 50 degrees so not much sweat :)

Re: 1968 Glassmaster Runabout

I am looking to achieve saftey blue color using the Valspar Tractor and Implement Gloss White as a base.

I found an Ocean Blue acrylic to be close, just a little light. Any suggestions on what to mix in to darken it up a little bit?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

I'm thinking this was your paint schedule right? Towards the bottom and highlighted is about matching colors. Adding black will darken but you'll just have to experiment to get it right.

Thanks TDF and Wood.

I agree, the Ford blue, just lightened a little should get me very close.

1 teaspoon of white at a time in one cup of paint and see where you get. I went to the Dollar store and bought a clear plastic bottle with a lid. Put the paint in and shook it up. Really easy to mix and "SEE" the results.

Re: 1968 Glassmaster Runabout

Got some glassing done today.

I glassed in the 1.5 CSM and 1708 biax in the area in blue.

I ended up putting a skim-coat on PB in this area just before I added the CSM and then the biax. I sure seemed to help with leveling it out a bit and in-turn there are only a few small air pockets that I will need to fix.

The glare makes it look like there are more air pockets than there are. :)

I got the rest of the stringers glassed in along with the hull stiffeners last weekend.

However, the camera croaked so no pics at this time.:(

Got the rough cardboard template for the deck put together last night.

I need to cap the stringers and add the pink slab foam (extruded polystyrene) for flotation. I can then start working on getting the deck in.

Dry-fit the deck this weekend and pulled out the slab foam that I will use for flotation.

Started working on fitting the flotation foam:

After I trimmed and dry-fit them, I sanded the bottom corner down so if/when any water get in under them, it can make it's way back to the bilge:

Still have a bunch more to go but at least it's a start while I wait on more dough to get more resin and MEKP.

Things have just been sooo busy that forward progress has really slowed down. Not to mention the weather (rain/temps)

Hey fst .... good idea on sanding the corners. I cut a piece of pvc pipe long ways and put it up under the foam to allow the water to get to the bilge. I had to use the pipe 'cause my foam wasn't as neat as yours ... lol.

Also wanted to say thanks for the lead on the windshield seal: http://www.boatersland.com/tay826500.html?gclid=CImJ7bSu-q4CFQfe4AodoFvZzQ they are only an hour drive from me so I am going there today to pick it up. Appreciate your help.
