What a weekend found a great deal on a compressor. AN 80 gal, 175 psi & 20cfm!! I searched for one new they cost around 1600$, this one still in good shape with great paint, all for a leg and an arm ($875).

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

So my gimball seal made it in today.

MAH006811.jpg

Went ahead and installed it. Nothing to it.

MAH006812.jpg

Got the bearing and follwed what mercstuff.com intructions. So I opened the bearing and Im glad I did.

MAH006816.jpg

I noticed aluminum shavings. It looks like this guys didnt bother to clean the ring before installing the bearing.

MAH006814.jpg

SO I went ahead snd cleaned the whole bearing.Marked the lube hole and Installed it.

MAH006821.jpg

Just kidding I just didnt put the outer clip and it just slid in.

MAH006813.jpg

SO I put the bearing in a ziplock bag to put in the fridge so I can do a real easy install.

U Know it hasnt been hard, but I dread installing the bellows. Have u seen how tight this things are? I tried to install the ujoints bellows just to see how hard. Crap, I need to put my body weight on it! Im gonna see if its wise to soak it in hot water before installation.

You are moving along Azlo. Even though I'm no IB guy, I would guess you are helping the other poor souls that have to deal with those problems.;)
On the brighter side, I can't wait until you are doing the interior as you have proven yourself to be an "out of the box" kinda guy. That is when I believe it will get very interesting.

Just make sure to glass over the cushions to keep water from intruding, guess that would make it more of a bench:p

Nice work on all those parts, seems like you are planning on keeping this rig for a bit based on how thorough you've been on this rebuild. Way to go:D

A leather one with recliners on each side? Vibrating lumbars and neck massage?

As long as this couch has a beerholder everything will be & will look allright.

To everybody, lurkers, trollers & Posters have a good thanksgiving day, from truly yours
