Ok this makes more sense. Not only is the fuel pump in circuit with oil psi switch but the pump is also hooked to the starter solenoid. I got this from the link that GLG fishing posted.

"ABYC standards require that the electric fuel pump turn off if the engine dies and the ignition switch is still turned on. It is common to power the fuel pump by the starter solenoid "I" terminal during cranking, then the pump is powered thru an oil pressure switch when the engine is running. If the pump runs all the time the ignition switch is turned on, you are asking for trouble. Just think, the engine dies from rich running because the needle and seat in the carb is stuck open. The ignition switch is left on for a bit and the pump fills the carb, intake etc.. with fuel. You go to resart and kaboom!!!!"

Makes more sense now that the starting solenoid is in play.

Ah Ha. There is the answer. I knew there had to be something to it. That also means you can not switch the ground with the oil pressure switch.

So went ahead and sand my sides to get them ready for zinc. I figured I try the yellow zinc this time.

Then fill scratches with primer. Didnt straighten some dents, i kow they will be back.

But I am not putting the aluminum trim back just yet. I will try to polish them after splash some time. However im having some thought as to how everything will fit together. Keep in mind I have moved the dash a foot forward. So i know there will some creativity.

The points got tuned so well that im gonna wait for them to wear out aand install the electronic ignition. I know theres a big debate on the subject but when isnt there. U know starcrafter65, i might experiment with like putting a fuel injected engine like I saw the guy from australia did here in I boats. Hmmm I also need a roof on my tin so theres something for me, dont have to do it but its there. Or theres fishing.:D

Hey Azlo, where did you get your self etching primer? I am not finding a lot around here other than the rattel cans.

Awesome job on the paint, photos and video as I liked them all.

U know I have the same problems and rattle cans are expensive. But in this case i just bought the 1 quart rustoleum filler primer & just sprayed it after the zinc. Will see how it holds.

Hey guys. If you go to your local automotive paint supply dealer, you will find all the self etching primer you need. Most carry it in pint, quart, and gallon sizes with all the reducer and hardener you need with a mixing chart. Hope this helps.

I used Pettit 6455 Metal Primer - it's the green ZC primer, good above or below the water line:

Had to order it online, do a google search.

Hi Guys:

You can do my video anytime Azlo, great thread and it's gonna be a great boat. I envy the warm Texas weather where you'll spend loads of time on the boat with the "Bling" engine.

It was around $40/qt.

A qt. will cover 100-150 sq. ft. Needs to be used within 8 hours of mixing, I mixed a half-batch. Seems to have worked fine, no issues.

Love the vids Azlo, great editing work like as sprint mentioned ^^.

Entertaining and educational, KRS would call it edutainment.:D

Taping stripes is a real challenge, and a good example goes a long way.
