Thanks Freebayliner, I think one can go faster but u have to have deep pockets for it to be. If I was to do it over again I would get it running for the season and work on it on the off season. Would love to see pics of your ride man.

well deep pockets does help so does alot of free time

Thanks for clearing that up Mark. :)

Az, I'm interested in finding out how much epoxy those deck supports soak up, I have a trawler resto project in mind and I'm costing stuff to see if it's feasible. Timber and epoxy is expensive on our side of the world! Thanks for your help.

I used a gallon of it, but used it on both sides of the deck & used sparingly!

Hello friends, still saving money for my drive but things keep popping up. Im still eating balogny sandwiches & if anyone knows of variations of the balogny sandwich please let me know. But im still able to do some little things like the rear lumbering. I wanted aluminum but time and money wouldnt let me. This is were I am so far.

im gonna build doors to access the batterys & fuel tank for what ever reason. I would love to have some kind drawers here but that would be later. Whats important right now is that I get this thing going. Before starting my savings crusade my vents & rod holders arrived and ancious to install those too.

SPAM is actually held in high regard in Maui...seriously I'm not kidding. They have it on restaurant menus.

Have you tried bologna and pickels? PB&J is cheap too......LOL

Are you going to run an electric blower on your vent lines or just rely on captured air movement? I have always heard that blowers were mandatory on inboards however mine doesn't have one. The vents are just hooked to hoses that go to the engine bay.

I like your rod holders I am going to do the same. Two pointing back and two farther forward kicked out to the sides.

Looking good!

Yeah im gonna install a blower on the exhaust vent. If u do an I boat search on vents u will find a lot info on how to install & why. Im gonna go the safe way.

Very nice Freebayliner, actually your is in better condition than what mine was. Very nice. Gonna kep up with your thread.

Azlo,

I had a 20 gallon bucket and filled it. If I remember correctly I bought 6 bags at lowes. BTW i really dont recommend sandblasting, as you can see it destroyed my bow, but the hull held up great. If I was to do it again I would use paint remover.

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

Realised that i could progress without spending any dinero. So i had epoxy left over & used it on my wooden setup.

I had paint but not enough to cover everything but thats when it hit me, vynil. I had left over vynil from my dash. The dash was easy, but this is a more complex ordeal for me. So I did the best.

Now keep in mind that I willhave doors in the opening you see.
