You can see my fabricated side panels for securing the nautolex mechanically. I used 1X12 composite lumber and ripped it in half and used carpet to vinyl transition aluminum for strength and something to attach to the deck.
You can also see around the console area where I salvaged the console from a fiberglass boat that was abandoned that I trimed out with diamond plate and aluminum angle. {I'm not exactly happy with}.. Just looks a bit clumbsy. I tried to use some scrap diamond plate from the shop and not sure if it is long for the boat.
Was going to install the Marine CD player from the donor boat and had troubles with it in the donor but it worked, well I cut out the notch in the console and sure enough it burned up on me.. Great! shoulda burnt before I CUT THE HOLE!!!!!.. ugh so now I have to buy one.
Kinda sad I couldn't utlilize the glove box from the old boat but there just isn't anywhere for it.
Ok, could use some help here on an issue.
I connected the throttle linkage and shift linkage. Throttle works fine, shift works great in forward, but binds right after engaging into reverse. I disconnected the shift and then it slides free forward and reverse. I adjusted the drum and still not right. Is there a method to setting it?
I tried putting the lower unit into nuetral, putting the shift lever in nuetral and then adjusting the drum to match the position of the pin that recieves the shift arm. Still in a bind. Seems kinda tough when I was manually shifting the lower unit.
Also, I wired in the gauges and powered them, had the lights working with the ignition switch fine. This was 3 weeks ago, Since then I wired the bilge, nav lights, yadda yadda and in the process of the jungle of wires I forgot how I had the gauges working with the ignition.
Gotta take the time and trouble shoot.. just so much left to do thats not mentally labor intensive so I am avoiding those issues
Still have to install the thru hull for the bilge, the two issues I mentioned, purchase a fuel tank and install, purchase another seat base and install, purchase a casting deck base and install, Install my led's under the gunwhale cap, repair a minor hole in the transom I made with an errant pilot hole for the motor bolts {dont ask, brain fart}, purchase a transom saver, retractable transom tie downs, purchase and install a cd player, install the fire extinguisher, Touch up some of the paint that "someone" scratched up because they treated the gunwhale cap as a work bench, etc, etc..
Looks like I have all the hard work done, just need to tie up all the loose ends..
