The gunnel tops on my restored 16 SS I used blue Natualex Vinyl and it really looked good was easy and will take a beating as will not let you slip getting in and out color is about same as the blue on there now.These were left over pieces from the floor.Just thought I'd suggest what worked for me.

I'd probably do that, if I didn't have all the tread plate laying around the shop already.

How have I not seen this?? Outstanding work. What a really great boat. Plus a 7' fish and crabs!!!!! Nice, nice, nice.

I wish that I had found this last year when I was re-doing mine! You have done an AMAZING JOB on your SuperSport! I have a 1978 16' SS that I did a lot of the same things as you. You just did them better. I didn't even think about using diamond plating for flooring. I was also trying to think of a way to put an in-floor gas tank in but didn't think of building a custom made tank. I haven't posted my project yet but you have inspired me to do it. I'm still adding on smaller projects as I think I always will.
