see now MRD, there is no reason to soil a rated g thread with talks of the white stuff.

I am from hawaii now a transplant to georgia  don't ask ...... so this cold and white stuff is just wrong.

Looking good with the paint.

As an FYI: All paint jobs have orange peel in them. Alot of that has to do with the quality of gun used, skills of the painter applying the paint, paint used, booth quality, etc. As far as I'm aware there's only (1) way to get rid of it entirely: After the paint has set and dried, wet sand and then buff. That will get you a mirror finish if that's what you're going after.

The complete color transformation makes the boat look amazing!...Orange Peel, forget the orange peel...I think the fish are gonna love it...;)...like has been mentioned...if it absolutely drives you crazy, it can be wet sanded and buffed...:)

BTW, 50's...??? I've been jonesing for 50's...finally made it to the low 60's last night...I love this cooler weather...'sposed to be into the 50's tonight for at least one whole night......

Question, would it be worth the time or money to coat the inside of a tin boat with the flex sealer that is advertised on tv?

Nah, I wouldn't trust that stuff for anything other than what it is..."Snake Oil"...

Snake oil huh GT? Ok, note made.

Hey Jsoutside and rrumba, Pink snow flake turtle neck sweater, hmmm. I might have one of those in the closet. :p Have not been able to wear long sleeves let alone sweaters for years now. Hot flashes you know? LMAO. You think working in one of those make shift blue tents gets hot when it is 90 degrees outside? Try having hot flashes while under there. Yep, I am loving this 50 degree weather here in MS. The heat I can handle, the humidity kills.

Totally had forgotten about the cooler find. Wow that is when you know you are living life right. I was thinking of having an areas to place a cooler or 2 inside the seat that would go across the back of the boat. I am going to be using 1 cooler as a live well and the other for life support!:D

my old boat had the tank removed, but still not really sure where it was unless it was along the side. When I got it there was a portable tank which I will probably go back to using. I am thinking gas tank on one side of bilge area and batteries on the other. That is the way it was so why not.

As far as the orange peel, splatter some red on there and the fish will just think it is food. You won't even need bait, just toss the hook overboard and they are on. Hmmm, perhaps there is something in that. I am gonna go patent that idea. Number to come....

Thanks for the info rrumba, I am gonna go check out Jasoutside's thread a bit. I love to look at other possibilities. The only problem with research on here is I get so involved that I end up on here for hours and getting nothing done. Where does the time go:confused:

I think iboats needs a bigger server, keeps telling me it is busy. I think what it means is: don't wanna hear from a woman:D

Flex Seal?

I went to buy some at Lowes to paint the headliner in my car. They said they quit carrying it because of all the customer complaints.

Sea ya...

Yeah GT, i am with you on that one, orange peel will stay until next year as it is no longer bothering me at the moment.

AJ, you could try it but i doubt it does what it says.

CK thanks for the drop in

Nothing really going on again, weather, cold etc you know...... still cleaning out the garage. Now i have a ton of leaves to get out of her.....

Re: 1975 Starcraft 140 Evinrude OB -- Restoration IN PROGRESS FINALLY

So i have been MIA for a bit and i do have some updates to post but i am waiting for a larger amount to post first. I do apologize to all of my Iboats friends, family, followers for missing out on your Tday posts and i pray that you all have had a great holiday season and that the new year is a blessed and family filled prosperous one.

I hope to post up some pictures and the updates this weekend with some major progress. i was able to get over one hurdle that was a stopper for a bit, but while my dad was here we got the correct angle and shape needed for the wood that is now the dash. with that done i should start moving along if the weather is nice for a few days.

thanks to everyone for sticking around, will be trying to catch up on your progress as well.
