Thanks! Im trying to get everything done by the 27th. Have an official fishing trip Im trying to bring some family out on.

I havent read anything regarding the fiberglass cloth although I have seen others do this. Are you saying the epoxy will crack or the wood? The factory transom isnt even sealed to begin with so I figured just a good epoxy seal and a few coats of paint would have been just fine. . If I really need to do that Ill have to wait until this winter unfortunately, Im pretty much out of time at this point but I will be sure to look into that thank you for the heads up.

And the foam the wife was more concerned than I was. Im more concerned with distribution of things like the livewell and gas tank,etc to make sure she sits level in the water. Dont want too much weight in one place thats why I want to get her in the water before I bolt everything down. Rather not find out the hard way the front is too low seeing I have no problem going out in some rough waters for eyes =D

For tight corners: Look up Gates 90 degree hose. can be trimmed to fit

Looked into that but it specifically states that is not recommended for marine use. I cant find anything that says it is ok for marine use

Ok nevermind I was right the first time.. this is from O'Reily " Caution: Not recommended for marine gasoline applications."

Id rather not find out. They put not recommended for marine for a reason rather be safe than sorry after all the time Ive put into this so far.

Epoxy resin shouldn't need cloth, only poly will do all the cracking. But epoxy has NO UV inhibitors and if you don't cover it paint or spar the sun will ruin the epoxy and it the wood will be exposed to the elements.

You can use a solid metal 90 in 1.5" for the filler tube and use some of the filler line to join the two.

Ok good well the transom is painted so no worries there. Too bad.. was really wanting a reason to take the transom back out...

I actually just left napa and they had an angled filler hose.. 5 min from my house lol. I will have to check your site out though maybe they have something better. This actually looks a bit like the one oreily has but Im running out of options and time here. I will be putting a cover over this part of the tank so if i do find a better option I can replace this section easily

It's fairly well known in the wood-boat circles that you shouldn't use 1 without the other on plywood.

You might call up an aviation shop or mechanic shop and ask them if they can bend and put a bead flare one both ends of an aluminum tube. It would only take a couple minutes to make and they probably have the scrap.

AS Watermann mentioned, the people at fillerneck supply have metal 90's in addition to the Gates piece. I used both on my boat but can understand beiong wary of non marine approved hose.

Got the trim on last night. Needs a good cleaning.. Cleaned the back off really well before I bolted it on though. Working on some OT today at work, putting motor on when I get home =)

Yes I want anything around the transom water tight I wasnt holding back on the 5200 lol. Im going to seal the rest of the edges around the mount also. Ill paint over it all eventually. I could really care less what the back looks like I just dont ever want to worry about leaks. And I have no clue what those rings are for! They were there when I bought the boat... So i got new ones and replaced them. Was hoping you could tell me what they were there for and no its not set up its still wet if thats what you are asking.

Ive had the cmc since I bought the boat. It is very nice it was a large part if the reason I bought this boat.

Nothing. Its just an eye bolt. I have never used them and I even asked the PO he doesnt know what they were there for either. I was thinking maybe they were used at one point to hook the tie downs to? I didnt really think about not reinstalling them.. Kind of just replaced whatever was there. Me trying to get everything done on time has put me into a bit of a rush hopefully I dont do anything stupid going forward (unlikely).

But I did manage to get the motor on last night and even though I was going to wait for paint, the motor needs it desperately.. I should have painted it with it off of the boat obviously.. but after I got it on there now I can bear to put a greasy gross motor on after getting the interior polished up.. My wife and I started to wipe the motor down, shes going to get the stickers taken off so Ill be painting it and ordering new labels for it. Everything shows on the white so probably going to paint it all black. We tried a few different things to wipe it down. We had some liquid Bar Keepers that took everything off with ease. Used a nylon scrubber to wipe it and some paper towels to dry it off. You can see how good of a job it did.

And finally got the garage cleaned out.. again. You see see how little space I have to work with =( We will be getting another house soon and a pole barn will be part of that purchase! The boat JUST fits inside!

Also, since its Mother's Day, I thought Id post a pic of what my 6 yo drew lol. She is not 20.. but she does eat a lot of salad so that is true =D

Was going to install the gas tank but thought it would be a good idea to check for leaks first. Filled the boat with water and still have 3 leaks, the main one being in the nose of the boat. No clue how its still leaking I dumped a ton of glovit of front.. a couple other tiny leaks on the sides so I will be getting some more glovit this weekend probably and sealing those spots. Good news is its only on the sides or front so I can go ahead and start working on the gas tank and pretty much anything else.

What would be the best way to seal the front of the boat? I dont see how its possible for it to still be leaking up there unless its from a spot I cant get to. Its a pretty bad leak so it definitely has to be fixed. Could I put something on the outside of the boat and it hold up? I can take a pic later of the front to show how well (I thought) I sealed it. Maybe theres a spot you can see that needs to be sealed that I missed.

Thats really the only thing I got done over the weekend. Worked on the yard putting out grass seed. Loads of fun...

I had the same leak in the front. Gluvit didn't seal it up either. I used 5200 on the outside and wiped it down nice and neat with acetone I believe. Keep a lint free rag wet with acetone to make a nice clean line. I did a leak test two nights ago at Dumont Lake and it stayed dry.

It's a nice lake especially with the park there for the kids if they get bored. I'm close to Burnips so dumont is about the closest launch I think.
