Thanks fellas. Im taking the day off work tomorrow to recoup and will be spending the day fishing with a buddy if mine. Hopefully that will take my mind off of things.

Think of it more as the "planning stage" of your resto! amazing the new ideas I get when I'm waiting on a tool or part (aka...procrastinating..haha).

Hope you feel better after some good ol' fishing-therapy!

BF, "fishing therapy" is redundant.....but yeah, i get lots done on the boat during "beer and thinking" time.

Hope it all goes away quick for you Drew, I've heard shingles are real nasty.

Re: 1977 Starcraft Supersport

Today I got the inside painted. I'm not real happy with how it turned out. The gun wasn't spraying very well. I think I will scuff it and spray another coat with one of my better guns. I had to paint outside so I got lots of dust and bugs in it. Overall it looks ok but it does have a little orange peel.

Re: 1977 Starcraft Supersport

Since I had some trouble spraying the paint yesterday I thought I would post up how I did it to maybe get some pointers.

I used rustoleum thinned 20% and shot it with a 1.4 tip. I was a little breezy so I kind of battled that. It really didn't want to lay down smooth s I'm wondering if it needed thinned more. There were also some spots I didn't get very good coverage so I probably should have put it on a little thicker to help with that. I also had a ton of dust land in the paint so I might shoot the next coat in the garage.

I'm going to scuff it back up and shoot another coat. I think I will use one of my other guns and might try the 1.7 tip. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ya the last time i sprayed (about 8 years ago) it turned out really nice but I was using one of my better guns. Ill scuff and re shoot this week and see what happens.

Im better but still not 100 percent. It did feel good laying down some color though :)

I sanded the paint down and sprayed another coat today. It turned out a little better but still has some orange peel and i have a few runs now. Ill sand it smooth again and spray one more coat and call it good.
