BN - Instead of cardboard to mock the rear seat, use some of the pink foam. It holds shape better and when you're done with it, put it under the floor as flotation. Some nails can hold it all together.

That's actually a good idea, I think I might try it.

Here is a few pics.

I got quite a bit done this morning. I got the consoles and front seating area out. I also got the rest of the deck out and all the foam. Pics will be uploaded later.

Alrighty, progress pics from this morning.

Crawled into the boat and found a surprise from the kiddos. They left a bunch of their beanie babies up on the console. Those kids are awesome :D

This week I have a bunch I want to get done. The consoles and fuel tank are still sitting in the boat so I want to get those pulled out and put away. I also need to vac up all the styro pieces and wash out the hull.

The transom is also wet so I need to get the motor and drive pulled so I can get that pulled out. I was on the fence on weather to paint right now or not but with the hull being empty now would be a good time to flip it.

If I have enough time this week I also want to start cutting out the new deck pieces and get the new transom laminated. It seems like I have alot on my list but if I plug away for a few hours a day I should be able to get alot done.

Hope everyone had a good and productive weekend.

I didnt have as much 1/2" ply as I thought so I made a menards run. I got 3 more pieces of ply and all the paint I should need for the boat.

Do you think 1/2" will be strong enough?

Im going to add some supports under the floor for added support. The problem with 1/2"ply floor on an SS is getting the consoles lined back up.

Yeah I was reading through your thread the other day and saw all the problems you had.

I have some 1" aluminum angle I will run from the stringers to the ribs to stiffen it up. The deck was 1/2" from the factory so it should be sufficient.

Tomorrow I need to do some major garage organizing so I don't know if I will work on the boat any. Cleaning the garage should help me get more done though since I'll actually be able to walk around in there.

Yah... without the shop organized... a lot of time gets wasted just trying to remember where tools are or where you last put your coffee down! :)

I wish i had a 25' hose on my shop vac. Then i wouldnt have to lift it in the boat all the time.

Ahhh... ya... forgot that some tin heads actually work on boats at sane hours!

Not always, but it seems smart to drink from a tin can while working on a tin boat :D
