Re: 1979 Imperial
Morning gang,
Just an update, life and such…
I’m sorta tripping out about this…
But just I sold my Cobalt to a family in Kansas….
There are many reasons for this decision… Mostly dealing with such a big boat alone, stressing about its care and maintenance. The cost of upkeep, fuel, and all the other details… Just keeping it clean is a ton of work… I’m finding I have an affinity to outboard motors vs. I/O’s, I could go on and on… I do love the boat…. It’s by far the most incredible boat I’ve ever owned… But I need to simplify… This sale will also put some closure from my failed relationship… And I can focus on getting the Imperial finished so Jackson and I can simply get on the water and go fishing! Four years ago when I bought my first boat, this was what I wanted to do… When I showed my other half the fishing boat I was interested in she was like “ where do the people go???? “ … So I bought the Bayliner I/O and tried to make that a fish/ski type boat…. Then I bought the Hurricane 202 with the F150TXR Yamaha. This was a cool boat (almost like an SUV on the water) but we got wet, and I wanted more power… Then I bought the Cobalt 226…. All I can say is wow… Boat of my dreams… Or was it????? Maybe it was a distraction from other things on my mind???? Anyhow… Just talking out loud…. The new owners come Saturday to pick up “ JACKSON LEE” (the boat) Then its time to focus on the Imperial now named “ JACKSON LEE II “ What a lucky dog! Two boats named after him!
I’m starting the keel repair this weekend on the Imperial. I’ve ordered the paint I’ll be using on the bottom, and possibly on the cap… I’ll see how it looks!
