Thanks.

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Happy Anniversary... We just had lucky 13 on 7/31.

Yes, the gauges (and entire helm) look great..

Yes, your wife would punch you in the nose..., and

Yes, you married up (or, as we say in the south where football is king -- "you out-kicked your coverage")...

You are a blessed man - hope the Mr. and Mrs. Outside have a great day and many more to come.

Peace,
rpm

Happy 13th! You are one lucky dude to have such an understanding woman to put up with so much boat nonsense...and you!

Lots of good thoughts to you and your beautiful bride!

Now leave the boats alone for a while and at least take her out to a REAL nice dinner, etc...

Happy Anniversary to you and the missus!

Glad the starter was a simple fix. Dash looks good, really like the under dash glow.

Congrats on the SN progress, bigger kuddos on the big #13.... Hope ya scored some extra boat passes w/ your choice of how to appropriately mark the event. A new fish finder for the SN is probably not a good choice ;)

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Thanks a bunch for the well wishes guys:) Yah, she's the best, no doubt;) Though, she doesn't yet know I posted that photo up there:eek::D

We're going to do a big swanky dinner on Friday night, should be really nice, no kiddos, quiet!

----------------------------------------------

Still crankin on electrical stuff. Started in on the switches today.

Hey, check out this shrink tube I'm using...

I got a bunch of this stuff labeled (bilge, temp, yadayada...) from Alpheus a while back so I thought I'd use a few pieces. Pretty cool.

I'll hit ya with some more photos as I get further along, not much to see at the moment.

Congrats on her sticking with you for 13 years! Our 13th is this October 2. I ended up ordering the BRP control and a new 20' harness to work with pre-'96 engines. Should make getting the engine up and running easy, plug and play! My original harness was all cobbled up.

Yah dj, she married me cuz I was a super cool lifeguard and has hung on to me cuz we had kiddos in diapers. Well, my lifeguard cert has since lapsed and all the little ones have been out of diapers for a while now. I do believe I'm on borrowed time now!!!

You are going to love those BRP controls, they are slick!

OK, time for a progress report.

Still working on electrical. Bilge pump and baitwell pump are all set, sweet! I didn't bother with photos as they look remarkably similar on/off, eh!

I got the navigation lights wired up, like em...

I kinda changed my base install on the stern light so now it's too short. I'll need to grab a bigger one.

Now, I am way excited about this....

I grabbed two 5 meter runs of these LED strip lights for a Islander a while ago...

Waterproof with sticky backing...

Ran em under the gunwales, wired em up, pulled the switch...

When they flicked on I let out a low, long, drawn out, wwwwhhhhhhhhhhooooooooough...

Dooood! These lights will add so much to this rig, super cool, love em!

Here's everything all lit up...

Yah baby!!

Well, I'd say I'm about at 75% complete with all the electrical stuff. So far it's gone really well. Besides the batt cable/starter issue (which was pretty easy to sort) all this stuff has worked first shot, love that!

Hey man.. 5M strip lights.. Can you cut them and butt splice into them all back to the same block if I wanted too??? Otherwise I guess you'd have 5M of strip light woven all over the place looking kinda ehmmmmm shoddy...

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Yah they can be cut to length. Though I didn't need to, they fit perfect under my gunwales! I started them both at the bow and ran em back, then ran my hot/ground wires up to the bow from the helm/fuse block. They were inexpensive, and really easy to install. Waaaayyyy worth the expense and time!:)

Oooo

I like the light strip :)

I looked at some like that, but if cutting you had to solder a resistor in place...

It looks like that one is set to be cut in sections :)

Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking? :D

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Yah, I wasn't really too keen on cutting it so I'm glad it fit. Perfect fit actually!;)

That was an eBay score, came from Hong Kong I think?? I don't recall the seller but there are lots there.

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Congrats the anniversary there Jas........

She is looking sweeeeeetttttt..... love the LEDs. i might end up doing the same, but instead either separate on/off for either the front and rear or port and starboard for lower level lighting with the all important both setting of course...
