Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild
Thanks a bunch iboats drydock dwellers!
--------------------------------------
K, this morning, a mix of good progress and dumb stuff.
I had two big holes and some corrosion in my gunwale so I drilled out and put a big stainless bolt there...
That big bolt covers up the mess but kinda also serves as support for all the cables/wires that will be run under there. You can also see a couple holes off to the left, I'll get something for those too.
I started running all the rigging too. Engine harness, T&T harness, fuel line, steering cable bundled up and cable tied under the gunwale...
Then dumb: I went to install the 12V outlet and apparently torqued it a bit too much, cracked it. Rats.
More dumb: I got the steering cap all painted up looking nice and at the last spray paint pass it slipped off the hook and fell right into a pile of sawdust next to my table saw.
So now I get to redo that. Rats.
I drilled out for the horn switch, course put a couple new scratches in the alum dash cleaning up the hole with a file. Dumb.
All the same, I got the switch installed, looking good...
New tach is on the way and I'll need another 12V outlet for those other two holes.
But, on the port side of the dash, everything is installed and ready to be rigged up, like it!
Have a good one all!
