Forgot about the buckets of perch they're pulling out. Not much of a perch eater so I don't mess with them. If only you had a smaller 14 footer with a small motor...it will be great fishing till we get ice which didn't happen last year! Easiest fishing there is...

No motor for the 14'.:grumpy: I need to put the 10 hp Johnson together.

73Chieftain, he did a rockin' job on this boat, I agree.

OK fellas, had a few minutes on the SN. I got the bulkhead cut out for the stern bench/deck.

So here's a real rough/early fit and what it'll kinda look like...

Then fold up the back rest and bump forward the butt cushion...

I still have a bunch of carpentry to do but a little forward motion anyhow.

Cheers!:eagerness:

Now we have to watch two threads simutanuously? We should coin a new phrase for you, you have "Multiple thread syndrome". Pretty soon it won't be good enough to restore one boat at a time.....

Bench looks great!

Wow, that looks great. It almost looks like you could use it as a small rear casting deck?

Good stuff Jas. Maybe round off the tops of the bulkhead to stop nasty gashes... you know how kids can injure themselves! :p

Hey thanks guys!:tan:

TII - Yah, I have a bunch more carpentry to do including routing the edges n' stuff. Hey man, what's going on with your signature there! Are you boatless dood!!!:upset:

---------------------

So ya, I started in on building out some structure on this bulkhead. You can see I sorta "boxed in" the sides. That sorta provides the needed framework and will give it a more "finished" look. Check it out...

Hey Jas,

Yep, boatless! :embarassed: That "Powered by iboats" sticker you promised never rocked up so I had to sell her! But don't worry, I have a cunning plan!

Pardon me going a little lawyerly (formal) on you, but I just wanted to go on the record and state that your bench seating set-up is:

Shizzle...

Nice work...

Carry on...

Nice work ! Just wondering . Are you using the back deck just for casting or will you add a pedestal seat while in the fold down position ?

Hey, thanks fellas - lot's to do yet though, hang tight!:juggle:

TII - I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with man! New metal floater eh??:drum:

sphelps - Yup, got a pair of pedestal seats that will be installed. One for the stern deck and one for the bow deck:chuncky:

Allrighty fellas, the UPS man paid me a visit today to drop off an important piece of gear for both this SN and the Islander:thumb:

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

All right, so I have pretty well come to the conclusion (full circle:rolleyes:) that the Sea Nymph will be making the trip to HHI. That said, I need to be sure this boat is all buttoned up and ready for action.

This morning I installed my new super cool FF/GPS/DI head unit. With the windshield on the smallish console my options were pretty tight but here is where I decided to put it...

Pretty excited about that!:joyous:

I then went to install the transducer. I wasn't feeling the warm fuzzy about locations. It was either too close to a strake, too close to the engine, or too close to a trailer bunk. They made mention about some sort of transducer swap program in their literature. I gave Humminbird a call and sure enough I can send in my transom mount and they will replace it with a thru hull transducer, cool!

I also spent some time on the stern deck/bench build. This thing is taking me a long time to work out. A lot of assemble, measure, disassemble, alter, repeat. The set up needs to be just right to work correctly. I'm getting closer.

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Hey Jason, the HB looks real purty sittin' up there. I thought I read on the HB site that through hull xducers didn't work so good on a tinny. At a minimum the temp pick-up isn't functional. Do they have new xducers that work better now?

Once again the Islander is shoved back in the corner. I hope she understands  is only a nap.
