Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Nice install Jason, other than the radio you must be down to a real short list on this project.

Yah, no doubt! This morning I made the final tweeks to the stern bench/deck bulkhead and laid the first sealant coat, so basically:

- Few more coats on that bulkhead, prime, paint install.

- VHF install.

- Install pedestal seats.

- Snap in carpet.

Done!:clap2:

Getting closer - have an excellent weekend guys!:joyous:

That's awesome man... then the pressure is off and the Islander is the focus??? Ya never know.... maybe it'll make the trip south? Ya... prolly not... but nice to think.

Nice work man!

dmoriarty - what in the world are you doing up at this hour? Only severe boat nerds and auzzies are awake at this time of the day! Can I get ya a cup of coffee? I just made a pot:tea:

So, in between the consoles is 19". Width inside the gunwales is 68" and my consoles are 24" each. 19" is plento o' room. 11" would be a little skinny but I'd say that would be fine. It would be nice to access the bow through that.

I suppose the real question would be if you'd rather have deck space, or rather have the second console. Certainly depends on your major uses eh.

Cheers!

I work that 2nd shift part of the day so i spend alot of odd hours on the internet, seems the sea nymph must be much wider than my crestliner, will have to get out my tape measure again and have a looksie.. As for console vs space, i do more riding around and floating/hanging out than fishing, and want to make the boat a little more comfy. truth be told i got the wrong boat but i gots what i gots and thats better than no boat at all.

Your stuff looks top notch keep it up. :!

Yeah, tell me about it dmoriarty51! :(

Great to see you're almost there Jas. The mob was getting restless over the Islander back-peddle, but I reckon they'll exonerate you for your excellent work on the Nymphette. :D

All right, all right! Jim's just being mean up there threatening to mess with pig products and coffee!

Ok, check it out, got everything installed ready for action! Here's the stern side in full fishen mode (yet to install pedestal seat back there though)...

Swing up the back rest...

Slide that seat cushion forward, comfortable for cruzin/skiing...

Here's how I put it together - installed these clips to the bottom side of the seat cushion...

...and they ride on these rails (leftover hand rails from a renovation project)...

Got some nice storage space in there too!

So yah, ultra cheap build out and everything feels super bomber/strong! It was very complex getting all the measurements just right so everything works together correctly, but, all's well that ends well:joyous:

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Hey thanks fellas! I'm really happy with how that turned out. That whole stern side set up has been a challenge but I think it worked out well.:joyous:

So what's left?

Here's my short list:

1. Pedestal Seats

2. Snap In Carpet

3. VHF and Antenna

The finish line is in sight!!!!
