Re: 1982 AMF crestliner got it for free

I think im the king of free boating, well almost free boating. I had planned on building or buying back to back folding seats. My dad is basically a foreman/ half boss at his work, and next to the factory is a boat dock place, they have to old boats back there, my dad was able to convice them to let him have the seats out of it and a boat cover that was laying in the boat. The seats are in pretty good shape. The edges are still soft and perfcet but the middle insters are a little roguh but i dont mind one bit.

Also took the boat out with some buddies yesterday, was out about 3 hours she ran like a champ only issues was loading and unloading it takes some getting use too. Also my dads truck is messed up so my budddy whose never pulled a trailer used his truck to get the boat in the water. After about ten mins of trying to back down, he got it straight!

Finally got the boat carpeted, my best friends dad bought a bunch carpet on ebay for his boat and sold me what he had left for 40 bucks. i spent 12 bucks on glue and was able to do it my self.
My aunt had a half off one cutt at a fabric store and i got $120 worth of marine vinyl for $60
I made some back panels to hide the battery and some of the mess in the back of the boat.
I also redone my seat cousins and pads in the from with he help of my aunt.

JP - I'll vote for the "Kong of Cheap". She looks really nice and you pulled a lot of stuff together for an inexpensive, but great boat. Don't be a stranger now.

Looks great, nice idea/job with the pallet wrap too.

If you get snow like we do around here, a 2x4 with one end on the top of the windshield and the other end on the transom or top of engine works great to prevent stuff getting stuck in the middle. :)

We have a kenwood CD player at work, that comes with two speakers for $88 my dads getting me that Christmas, I know it's not marine grade but I think It'll work just fine.
Also I've been watching our boat stuff at work hoping it'll go on clearance And marked down but it hasn't just yet!

I'm in Indiana so we could get alot of snow or none who knows we had a very mild winter last year with almost no snow, I did put some plastic lawn chairs in the back of the boat to hold the covers up its almost the perfect height

They make water proof stereo enclosures :)

Marine Stereo Cases, Enclosures, Housings & Mounts - iboats

And good thinking with the chairs
