Great memorial to iboats..
We only caught half a dozen keeper perch... Gave them to my buddy who had about the same amount and no, we didn't get any pics of the keepers... too tired at the end of the day...

As always your glass work is exemplary!!!;)

too kind as usual Wood! but thanks

The ice was about 12" We had a spud with us to clear ice from the tip up holes. If you get one bigger than the hole, believe me, we'd be spudin the hole big enough as fast as possible

Ok, now on to the weekend update....

Friday evening I got a good long time to finish cleaning and prepping the front stringers and got the other side covered with CSM. I also managed to get one side of the front bulkhead covered. Jr was on a date so I was solo... I knew this day would come, some girl is more exciting than dad to hang out with

Here's the what's written on the back side of the center stringer behind the iboats shoutout

Re: 1982 Sylvan Bassboat project

Saturday was a busy day and no work was accomplished...

Today, I got out there early and cleaned up all the layup from Friday night. Then prepped and cleaned the backside of the front bulkhead to prep for glassin. This was a challenging layup. 8 separate pieces of CSM so I could work around all the edges and corners. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I spent a LOT of time with the chip brush getting all the corners good.

Let it sit and kick then a few hours later came back and cleaned it up.

Here's all 3 strings and the bulkhead ready for install.

Next I cleaned and prepped the hull for bulkhead install

and for the final act of the weekend, PL'd in the new bulkhead.

If all goes well tomorrow we'll get the bulkhead pb'd and tabbed in. We also got an order of 2 part foam from US Composites this week so next up is finishing the main stringers and getting a temporary deck cutout to drill pour holes in and screw it down. I really want to have the deck installed soon! Gotta keep ahead of Gus, lol

The PL needs 72hrs +/- to off gas before you PB fillet & tab in the parts you PL'd to the hull... Additional heat doesn't help much, it can cause excess bubbling...

Jb is right about the PL.. Make sure it has set at least 72 hours before tabing.. If it is still gasing it will ruin your tabing..

Excellent work w/ the CSM & installing that bulkhead!

Really good 'alternative' use clamping a clamp to hold or align the bulkhead:

Thanks Guys! so you're sayin I need to take it bit slower and let Gus stay ahead of me? just kidding... thanks for looking out. I'll let it cure a bit longer than I was planning. I'll spend tomorrow night doing one of the other 5,000 things yet to do

Cool temps may make it an even slower cure, but hopefully less bubbly

Thanks JBC! The clamps were nothing more than the hamster going wild, hahaha

At this point it should have until Friday at the earliest. Tuesday & Wednesday evenings are booked and I am pretty sure I have something on Thursday... so It'll have plenty of time before I get back to it. I'll just putter around as I have a few min here and there prepping.
