Well, this weekend was a busy one personally. I had a bunch of things non-boat to get done so not much progress. I did however manage to get the trailer tongue drilled out for the new coupler and get it painted. Tonight I should get it installed and then it's back to the boat for a bit. This morning I put in a US Composites order for some CSM & 1708 in prep for tabbing in the fishing deck stringers, and getting the deck ready to go for the whole thing.

sshhhhh, don't tell the family but I have the garage heating up as we speak and no honey do's or kid commitments all day until this evening. We may actually see some progress today

oh, and my US Comp order of 1708 & CSM arrived yesterday, time to get that front fishing deck stringers and such done!

Ok, weekend update. This will take a couple of posts to get all the pics in so please bear with me. I managed to get not only most of the day Saturday but I even managed a huge part of the day on Sunday!

Saturday began with finishing the work from earlier in the week that I didn't update you all on. I had managed to cut out the access areas in the bait well so that when the time came to drill holes I'd only have to go through 1/4 ply. Then I cut and glued in some 1/4" ply to cover the newly exposed styrofoam insulation. I also router'd all the exposed corners and edges on the box.

here's the hole freshly cut before I glued in the sides.

Then I built a couple of support braces for the box to sit on and hold it level. (remember, the drain side is an inch deeper than the other)

and I gave it a dry fit.

And check it out from a lot of angles to make sure it fit the way I wanted it.

end of day 1, yup she's lookin just like I want.

Sunday began with a sanding and router session on the previously glued up bits on the box. (can anyone see where I oops one of my holes, lol?)

Hmm, let's see how it fits now....

oh man that's gonna be a tight fit, only 2" of space.

Next I decided to cut the access holes in the stringers and router all the edges....

The undercarriage is ready for GLASS!

Thanks SP, Woody & GT1M! sorry for the sudden drop off, got called away for a bit. Now to finish the update...

Oh, the oops was before the BL but the BL made the pain feel better, :facepalm:

I glued up a new transom.... er I mean glued up the bulkhead.. I added a 5" extra bit of 3/4" to it to strengthen the leading edge of the fishing platform that will get the most abuse.

and.... then I got really ambitious and cut this little ditty out....

and route'd, sanded and trimmed to size...

man am I tuckered out after this weekend.... In case you are wondering about what the heck the deck is attaching to, I've decided to attached the deck to the cap. It will be a bit harder from the planning standpoint but I think it will be the more correct way to do this do high up in the hull. Not to mention when I gel coat the cap it will be easier to make the fishing deck a seamless integrated part of it.

Happy almost Tuesday, no boat work tonight but if all goes well I'll be stinkin up the garage with the sweet smell of resin tomorrow evening.

Oh and the amount time that darn hamster spent spinning on the wheel this weekend made my head hurt. I'll be glad when this is all glassed in and done!

Ok, here's a long over due update.

Last weekend we took a weekend off to head up to one of our great Michigan lakes and do a little ice fishing. Here's the evidence...

inside nice and toasty... Here fishy, fishy...

Today, I started by finishing the last of the routering and sanding on the front fishing platform bulkhead. (oh, and dry fitted it one last time)

I'm liking it!

hmmm.... what to do now?

What's that? could it be??? Yup, we're prepping for laying some CSM.
