Re: 1986 ss 201

Motor is in, wiring is figured out, trim works the way it is supposed to finally. New water pump is installed. Waiting for a new ign coil, and a transducer swtich for the Humminbird, The Minnkota has a built in transducer, and I have the one to go on the transom. I thought I was going to have to unplug one and then plug the other in, when not using the TM.

Down to the short list now.

Finish the trim over the seam in the floor vinyl as well as around the cup holder opening in the dog house. Done

Anchor the lower section of the dog house

Install and wire the batteries for the trolling motor.

Install the Humminbird.

Anchor the rear seat storage boxes.

Install the bimini top and make the privacy curtain for the Porttopotty.

Secure the trim around the bow floor storage.

Install the new tires on the trailer once they arrive.

Install the horn.

WHEW. :target:

Got my decals in the mail, name is on the SS

Kinda stole this idea from Jason, looked great on his trailer so I added to mine.

This is the aluminum trim I used around the motor opening, came from Home Depot at a very reasonable price.

The next one shows the trim from a different angle as well as the water separating fuel filter install.

Next couple show the trim installed over the center seam on the Nautalex floor vinyl. It is also from Home depo and is an aluminum vinyl floor seam trim.

The last one is a shot of the 1/2" aluminum angle I used for trim around the opening in the dog house

Thanks Bob, Ya I will have to spill a beer or a coffee as soon as it hits the water just to get it over with.
All the trim is stock extrusions from Home Depot, in there paneling dept.

Thanks John, Just waiting for some gear oil to fill the LU and she is ready to fire up.

I just skimmed thru every page of this thread....quite an epic resto. I can't imagine how much time/money you have wrapped up in this baby.

Def looks great, though.

Unbelievable restoration! I have a feeling that I'll be referencing this thread ALOT in the coming months!

What you need is a big, slimy bluecat writhing on her deck to get rid of that "Newly-restored-boat" smell

Aluminum trim really adds a touch of class there! Looks terrific. Glad to see the outdrive installed and decals... means you are sooooo close! All the little finishing touches really make a difference.

Great stuff Glen!

All I can say is DAYMN, she looks good. BTW - spill some beer, more like christening with champagne but no stain like coffee. :)

Do you happen to have an end pic of the vinyl floor trim you used down the center? I've looked at my HD and haven't found it.

I'd think he might be bummed, Dozer's doing much better work then factory ever did. 'Course 1 at a time does help I reckon.....

No matter, definitely an early SOTY front runner for sure. Buttoning up great, looking forward to the big 'S' pix.

Thanks Guys, me too on the splash, but the way the weather is going this spring the SS will be done long before the water is ready.
