Agreed. Make sure all the linkage and the timer base is getting to full wide open. You may still have a timing issue. It will rev easier in reverse because there isnt much bite in a prop going backwards (no strain). <br /><br />Once you do the sync & link check spark. Maybe we're running on 3 cylinders. Or maybe 2. Since youre going to check timing just put the light on each plug wire. We aren't concerned about what the actual timing is but rather if the plugs are getting spark. Also check for the correct firing order. If it idles OK it should be correct. If, at idle, it will struggle and suddenly stop you could have 2 wires crossed. Primary or hi tension.<br /><br />Then check the timing. You can do that on the ramp. Just back down far enough to cover the water pump. Slowly advance the throttle in gear and watch the timing on #1. <br /><br />The biggest thing is that if this has been this way since you got it back with the new powerhead, let the dealer fix it. If you change anything it could affect the warranty. Although I have my doubts about a dealer who would replace a blown powerhead and not clean the carbs - unless he was told not to.
