I'm thinking we should start a thread for 2014 that lists all the splashed rebuilds so it is easier to keep track. We might be able to get a Mod to make it a sticky at the top like Jason's resto list so it doesn't get lost.

I have one more nomination - TheWrks '68 Holiday. A true resto, he brought it back to new condition after sitting in the garage covered with twenty years of stuff on top.

I'm not exactly sure why, but after 3200 pix, I want a Mini Cooper & I want to take a road trip in it. :facepalm:

Well that's what happens with you run the MINI Cooper Website :joyous: Road trips in a MINI are great I've been to AZ, NC(Dragon 9 times) and in to Canada on trips.

I was thinking the same thing, Dozer. Jason has done a yeoman's job keeping the resto thread up to date, a thankless job. :thumb:

A 2014 Starmada Splash stickie thread makes a lot of sense. When a member dunks and declares his/her boat finished (well we know what that means), they can add a post with a splash pic and link to their resto thread. It will make life a lot easier next year. We almost missed Cutbait's nomination because it was so early in the year. Also after the splash, some members postings numbers fall off some - Unlike you charter member MBS Kanucks, they don't have the next project in the wings. Except for the aforementioned Jason, he's doing two at one time and threatening to finish one in the coming year.

Might help to add the splash year to Jas Rebuild thread links too.....

Unless a MOD can 'un-sticky' a thread every year, a 2014 SOTY thread may not be a good sticky. Maybe instead of a 2014 thread, just a Splash of the Year thread. Spelling out will help the newest members know what the thread's about. If they don't open a SOTY thread, how are they going to know where to send their annual dues?

W/ a link to their resto threads. Those of you who've splashed, should submit the work to the completed projects list. I think LakeLover's was the last SC added, so it's been awhile. Certainly some amazing work has been done on dozens of boats since then.

Also at the top of the resto forum is a sticky about pending changes. It's a suggested before & after thread. 4pix +/-, 2 before & 2 after. For sure there's a bunch of boats/threads/work that should be added there too.


BTW: To be clear, yep, I'm nominating another Canadian :facepalm:

BV ripped (pun intended ) through that Holiday. Forgot about her. Nominee for sure!

On the stickie thing - Maybe just a SC splashed thread stickie instead of separate 2014, 2015, etc. stickies. Stickies have a problem, for example Jason's resto thread - Only the OP or a Mod can update the first post. So if Jason goes to the dark side, plant me in the ground if that happens , a Mod would have to keep the first post current - Too much house keeping. Better to just have a splash thread stickie limited to the opening post explaining our intent and Starmada splash posts only. Although we can't control comment posts following a splash by non-splashers. Guess we can't have everything. Or ask Jason to add splash dates to his completion updates in the first resto post. More work for Jas, though. Thoughts?

I consider myself to be a stand-up guy, so vertical please. And heads up too, if you will. Easier to light a torch that way.

Yeah, where is that EZ guy? Haven't seen hide nor hair in a while. You don't suppose he went ove........unthinkable. Besides I but one live to give for the Starmada.

I would think a running SOTY thread for the specific year, not a sticky. Post the conditions for posting in the first post, only posting finished projects, nominations and ???. Maybe the second post should have the running list of completed nominated projects. Any errant posts could be edited out by a friendly mod. My .02.
