I ordered the gallon sized Gluvit.

Meanwhile the Gluvit comes in, I cut and test fitted part of the deck. I'll post pictures tommorrow as it's too late right now and I have to go to sleep.

I raised the deck on the boat to make it more comfortable.

This is my Dad cutting the deck curve. We gestimated the curve because when I took out the deck, That part came off in pieces.

This is where the deck ended up being at. Seems pretty comfortable for fishing.

What do you guys think? Should I go all the way back to the transom at the same height? Or, should I keep it low the way it is?

Will keeping it high all the way back to the transom make it difficult to service your motor?

Ahh! Thanks. That's a good point. I guess I'll keep it low.

How can I remove what it looks like calcium or lime deposits from the aluminum?

Re: 22' 1968 Starcraft

How can I get rid of this?

Could this be rust? I've already tried scrubbing with soap and water and nothing comes off.

Thanks. I want to see it finished already.

Will Acetone remove this?

That center console is going to be really nice:D...plenty of room for electronics on there. I've been thinking about building a mini cc from an old 15'-16' aluminum hull. Full walk-around makes it nice for fishing.

Are you going to have a platform in the bow? Or rebuild the cabin partially?

I'm going to make a platform in the bow. I'm planning on making a fish box there and maybe a couple of ice chest, all below the deck.

But then again, they're all plans. I still need to see what happens when I get there.

"I think I'm gonna stop by the automotive paint store"
Try Marhyde ( I think that's the brand) Aircraft Coating Remover (Imron stripper)
This is really powerful stuff, keep the little helper far away.
I have used this stuff with good results, suit, mask, gloves and ventilation
recommended.
