Hi guys, it took me a week to try to read all the back logs on cracked blocks, cracked heads, blown head gaskets. Well here is my problem. My buddy took his boat out for the first time since his grandpa passed. (only 134 hrs on boat and out drive) we had it out with me and it was doing great, then the out drive broke the top gears(low on oil) then he ran the engine until it got hot into the red zone. When he brought it to my shop i went to turn it over and the cylinders had all 6 full of water!! At first we were just holding the key to try to get it to turn over. (not good) so here is my guestion, how did water get into pan? and its clean about a 1/2 gal ihad the heads in the shop no cracks, the intake manifold did not leak into the valley, the block around the cam shaft is good, the cylinders look ok after ball honed and checked. can water go by the rings? my engine guys say no, how about under turning the key? also it is not milky at all also. well thats it! right? thanks guys

Got a serial number? Could be the manifolds or a cracked block... or, could be both. It happened to me...

Water will go down past the piston rings with the engine sitting. The water will not mix with the oil (and turn milky) unless the engine is running.
But you still have the question of how did the water get into the cylinders.

And we have the question of what's the engine serial number?

Hey chris, I said oil cooler, the last time I checked power steering fluid was oil :D

Just to add additional, my comment came from a possability that the boat was left sitting in the water not running. If that is the case the water pressure could have pushed the water in. Just my WAG

Edit: But chris you are right, the PS doesn't connect to the oil pan :( I feel so bad

Hey guy, thanks for the help but we did figure it out , well almost! The block is cracked on top of the deck by the main water jacket, it runs from the big hole to the top edge of the block down the valley about 1 inch or so. So that expalins the water in the oil pan, and a little of the cylinder. The flappers were shot and water must of came back into the exhaust and filled the cylinders and cracked the block at the same time. mistery solved. now time to find another block.
