Yes . it seems to match up with the schematic you thought, like I said; sometime people add/change components that will work from different years. It interesting to see that they made Chrysler motors in Barrie, Ontario (about a hours drive from me)Hope this is helpful

Yeah... the starter may have been dropped or been hammered (bad habit) to get it to crank.Ok so i got the ignition wired up as per diagram, and still having issues. Bypassed the ignition and put power right to the starter and there was an unusual amount of sparks from what looked like the inside of the starter and found this (see attached video) dosnt look right to me, so im sourcing a starter now. (Opened it up and found broken magnet chunks inside as well)
NP I'm just passing on the knowledge I received in the pastBy the way thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated
Nice, you're close to the lakeIm from Hamilton, to funny. little more than an hr from Barrie
We've all hammered a starter once or twice...Yeah... the starter may have been dropped or been hammered (bad habit) to get it to crank.
look for a good used (USA made) one. (most) cheap new ones ($85) are imports and are either no good or won't last
inspect the old Starter to see if the brushes and armature are still good??
A lot of times you can make a good working one out 2/3 broken ones
