Did ya ever make a call on what you where gonna do with the dash? Im contemplating what to do with mine. It has some cracks but the worst of it is the top parts of the plastic have a nice baked in the sun melted wave to them now.

Mine has a wobble in it as well. I'm going to take them to a shop that does car interiors to see if they can foam and glass over them like they do in custom car interiors or if I should go to an alum fabricator to see what they can do.

I really love this dash, clean looking, I dont think it would be hard to do something like this with what we have instead of all the plastic garbage.

We could just use a 3/8 - 1/2 thick piece of starboard and bolt that down as the top piece on the dash and that would not fade or weather.

I kind prefer that clean look as well or a total custom alum dash but that might cost as much as the boat itself.

I was thinking wood with vinyl on it but wouldnt want to use it for a step, maybe a step pad on the top. I like the starboard idea too though. Another reason I wanna get rid of the setup now is cause with mine being an outboard I think im going to end up with no gauges, gonna look stupid with nothing in that bump up section behind the wheel. As is now I only have a speedo and gas gauge, both which I wont need. They tried making it look to much like a car dash in my opinion..... and out of plastic to boot..... what where they thinking.

Thanks so very much on the paint info. I'm overwhelmed with the level of detail and much appreciated. Looking at your posts I was sure you were the kind of guy that pays attention to details.

Thanks man. I'm trying to keep my eyes on the prize without losing the attention to detail. We'll see how I do when it's finally finished.

Hey Sprinter, here are a couple of pics to get you all in the mood for the spring...

Our pup Marley enjoying a day on the Bay.

Our local tall ship, the South Passage.
Both shots taken today on Moreton Bay about two nautical miles from where we live.
Hope the weather warms up for you.

That's more like it. Can't wait to get out on the water... My dog started like that but now is about 120. :)

You don't want to see the pics from here. Two feet or more of snow that needs to melt but there will be a 20 degree jump in temp starting next week. I'll be in the boat working everyday :)

My bad. I did laminate flooring in 4 bedrooms, my taxes, etc and neglected the boat.

This week I pickup the seats and will tear apart the console area and look to bolt in the aluminum one I have from another boat.

I'll temporarily bolt in the stereo tomorrow and at least have some tunes while I work.

I'll have some pics again on Tuesday when I hopefully finally pickup the seats.

My same dog that ate my boat seats a while back blew out a cruciate ligament so I had to shell out $3100 for him to have surgery last week. Pet insurance will give me back about $2500. He's doing really well and is already in better shape than me.

That sob story ought to buy me week or so :)

I'm mad I haven't got out there and finished this thing so I'm tempted to get out there and join you with the torches.

PS. I took out the third row seats in the Yukon and am getting ready to go get the seats on Tuesday :)

I got the waterproof housing and the stereo in :) I hooked up the front speakers and played a cd while I cleaned her up a bit.

I'm heading out tomorrow to pickup my back to back seats so tomorrow is pics day.
