Moved the axle to over the leaf springs today to drop the trailer down. It was way to high up there as I think I'd have to sink my truck to get the boat to launch. The trailer height looks 10 times better as do the wheels in the fenders. I'll see if I can dig up some before and after pics.

More pics and documentation of my bearing buddy model so I can remember it :)

I flipped the axle after doing some research. Turns out that my axle was always incorrectly installed. The crown (bend) in the axle (cambered) should be up and the only way to slot the bolt in the leaf spring into the hole in the axle was to move the axle over the leafs.

Pulled the boat into the driveway to get ready for the next weekend or so. Picked up a new group 27 Costco deep cycle marine battery for the accessories as well as a new stainless steel steering wheel and a Ram mount.DSCN0786 (Medium).jpgDSCN0784 (Medium).jpgDSCN0785 (Medium).jpg

I like that stainless steering wheel, nice classic design. I scored a freebee of the disposable glasser that was recently on the property;)

Nice one Jas. I need a property like that to shop off of.

I'd like to take the boat for a spin next week but I'm tempted to rip the dash apart and build an aluminum one but might wait until fall to start with that bs :)

Got to see if I can double check dash connections, wire up speakers, fish finder, tighten up gas lines and go for a spin mid week when the lakes are quiet.

More minor work...but complete nonetheless.

Deep cycle battery installed for accessories. Forgot the radio on for 24 hours and only drained the battery 20%. Mounted fire extinguisher with metal mounting bracket instead of the cheap garbage it comes with. Also remounted transducer as the old bracket cracked at the end of last year.

I got the bow composite decking done but will replace with a white version next week. Speaker wires have been routed with final connections and clamping of wires down tomorrow as well as fish finder mounting. So close now...

The 6x9 speakers are all wired in now. Hooked up the iPod to test and they work great. Soldered all connections and shrink wrapped. I also hooked up a ground to the gas tank as well.

Tomorrow is the Ram mount and fish finder wiring. I'll downloaded the firmware and load onto a memory card and update the fish finder and them basically ready to roll.

Yes...get real is a very hip thing to say :) Thursday she gets wet if the weather is decent...this weekend at the latest.

Fish finder is wired and mounted. Here's a shot of the bow deck that will get replaced in white composite decking. I like the composite boards full length as they distribute the load across more bracing and should keep the kids hands from melting crawling around on the bow.

Dug into some stuff I bought a while back... This bag will carry the fish finder around when it's not in the boat and for storing wallets, keys, phone, etc.

You certainly have lots of cool gadgets on the rig, and some quality work on the whole boat.:)

Count me in as another impatient iboater waiting to see the old girl back in the wet stuff.

I especially like the way that your stern seats and doghouse look with the speakers installed. Great job Sprint!

Good luck with the maiden voyage, and watch out for some benevolent pitchfork-armed mobs to arrive in a week or so.:D:D

Thanks man, I dig the gadgets as well. Might need some to keep the mob at bay :)
