Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy
Without getting to lay my hands on it, & see it up close & all at once, man, I'm be hesitant to even comment..... But I haven't in a bit, so hang on & here we go.....
Looks like you've got a whole lot going on, and although it 'seems' that it may have gotten a re-spray gelcoat at one time or another, I'd have thought that the interior, once stripped & bare glass, would have shown evidence of a 'reason' for a re-spray. It didn't seem to look that way. Have you looked up a '78 Ebko & seen what the original exterior gelcoat color(s) options were?
Maybe it was that metal flake brown and a past owner didn't like it......
I don't know why, no basis in factual reality, but:
Ebko sprayed the mold for the hull just like most did, right? Maybe they shot the outside gelcoat & then shot the strakes & hard edges w/ a harder, more chip resistant gel(?) or resin to decrease trailer rash along the strakes which would decrease the hull's performance

??.... Maybe?
This pix:
Looks kind of like previous repair work, or re-work by Ebko before the original sale ???
BTW: Trooper, ya know you don't HAVE to do the entire hull bottom better then Ebko did originally...
And those guys weren't fighting stones
You & SP need a support group
Awesome work, stones or no stones! And w/ stones, I can't think of a better descriptor. So I'll have to substitute size for substance:
AWESOME WORK!!!!!!!
