Great video, looks like it came out great! I may have to get a video camera....wish I had made one of the seacast.

Frisco - I wish you only the best! I loved Durabak when it went down too, I thought, this is awesome stuff! Until 2 mos. later when I dropped something and it cut...again, mine was white smooth, so I seriously want to know how your rough holds up.

I want it to work so I can do it again on my new project boat, so keep us posted on its durability.

My concerns with it were never adhesion, just durability.

I am not sure there is going to be a perfect product that will never chip, unless you put down a two part epoxy. the stuff that dried on my mixer will not chip off.

Well, I definitely agree with you there. Again, if I had the boat still I'd check, but the other possibility for me is that it was too thick, which would be my bad. 2 coats of white didn't quite give me an even color, so I know I did 3 coats...again, if it pooled or anything, it would definitely be thicker than intended.

I definitely feel it could be my fault too, which is why I'll want to see your opinion as I would give it another shot for sure. This time I'd probably use textured and not white...so it would cover better I think.

You're doing great!

Looking at Bear_69cuda's Durabak installation of it on the floor with carpet accents on top, I'm thinking that's the way to go now. I'm glad other's have used it!

cool videos! that durabak stuff looks like it should last a lieftime.

is the surface slippery at all? wet bare feet or with shoes and wet deck...have you checked it out? I know you used the gritty version....just wondering if it was still a bit slippery.....

now I know why you took so much time making sure the deck was all smooth!

The surface grabs like glue so far. I am not sure about the wet feet thing, but it will sure get a workout this summer.

That brings up a good point. I HATE WINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! My joints hurt, people get short tempered here, and there is not enough sun. BAAAAHUMBUG!

Ditto on that . the high here today was 35, I know that it is colder in some places but that's one of the reasons I moved. I guess I'll just have to keep moving. :p
Once again great job.

But if we didnt have winter we would be out on the water and our boats would never get rebuilt. There are some good things aboiut winter I realized after living in Tennessee. There is nothing like coming in from a day of working out in the cold and coming in to get in a warm bed with the wife. And putting your cold feet on her:D. Also I think people need the cycle of being a bit down in the winter and up in the summer. Kind of makes you appreciate both a little more. Also when its cold you can always add more cloathes, when hot you can only take so much off before the Coast Guard comes up and starts bitching.

I found the Durabak had plenty of grip wet with bare feet. I missed out on the 1978 Cobalt, and am looking for a winter boat project big time... Oh yeah... I forgot about my house project list  Not as fun!

Bear talk to 83vert. He got a new boat and is looking to get rid of his uncompleted project.

Awesome Job, Jay. I may still go with this but it is like thrillhouse said " a bit pricey"

Are you going to have a ton of downtime until you get the motor?

It is a little pricey but there is not really anything out there that does the same thing any cheaper. I looked at West marine and they have some non skid paint for 94.00 a gallon. so for a little more I got this. I thought about doing rustoleum but after seeing how shiny my bilge came out I am glad I didn't.

By the way I walked on it today and it is very smooth on bare feet.
