Does that $20 cover the bucket and the cleaner? I saved an episode of musclecar on spike that went over the quadrajet rebuild, and I re-watched it last night. That carb has alot of tiny crap in it.

I've got one of those Chem-Dip cans with cleaner and tray. I used it once or twice and couldn't handle the smell. It's been a few years since I used/looked for it. If I can find it, I'd just about pay you to take it. If you're in the Southlake/Grapevine area during the week, I can leave outside before I go to work.

I ordered the Durabak yesterday but they said it might not be here until next week. That was a bummer. I did not get to work on it tonight at all due to the fact I had to replace the tensioner arm on my work van. It did not take long, and thank goodness for air tool. I did make a movie that kinda gives a how too on transom replacement. I am not sure I like it, so we will see how it turns out after editing.

I have been following this thread all the way, and I am really excited about your progress, and to get seriously going on my boat. I finished Finals today, so I will be starting my thread, and my boat very soon.

These videos are awesome. They really show how well you did on this project. They really do help. You do a really good job of explaining everything. if the upscale home theater thing doesn't work out you could go into making boat restoring videos!

beyond the Durabak and installing the seating, what else do you have planned for your boat?

I heard that. I really do not go west of 35. My main biz is the money corridor between 75 and the tollway from downtown all the way to McKinney.
You know I will have to charge royalty if you make videos like mine.

That wheelin trip was in 2005. In 2007 we did another trip to the same place for my friend's bachelor party...talk about a week long bachelor party!!! it was so awesome. We are going back again August of this year!


When do you get the engine?

That was awesome dude! I have a 2000 Xterra... Those look lifted and modified. I hear they are excellent for off road. Do you own one as well? Sorry for jumpin on this off topic subject on your resto thread Jay!!!!!

I know it might seem weird to be talking on a camera to people you have never met before. its a bit of a strange concept, I agree!

However!

In your videos you explain everything really well, and it is much better than pictures! You get to see all of the angles, and hear you explain it as you show us the image. I will be watching that a bunch of times over the next few days just to get it into my head.

Sorry to ramble, but to sum it up, I think the videos are great. They really helped explain it to me, thank you!

Keith, I think I am going with a stock 350, with a RV cam (more torque), 4 bolt main, aluminum performance spread bore intake, and the re-built quadrajet.

I am not going to buy it until right before boating season. At least after our last freeze. The engine only have a 30 day warranty and I want to have some time to run it in. I plan on fully assembling the engine and mounting it to a pallet and letting it run in outside to boat. That way I can really test it out and make sure there are no leaks.

I too will be running my engine on a pallet before dropping it back in and I understand about waiting. The transom assembly should keep you busy enough after the deck is painted.
