Hey frisco,
I didn't get to try it at work today. I couldn't find any of the pink stuff to use. I have used PU foam with a lot of products and never had any problems.
Good luck with the pour.
I plan to pour some of mine this weekend too, if time allows.

I am so antsy about getting this foam. I should really be looking forward to this little vacation, but I want to get the foam poured first. That is not going to happen.

Hey frisco,
Sorry to hear you aren't going to get the foam poured, so just enjoy your time. It won't take you that long to do when you return.

I know Bob, it will come soon enough. We are having a great time here in San Antonio. It was supposed to rain all day today, but the sun came out and it was really nice. I just hope tomorrow is the same.

I spoke with my father in law and he said the foam came today, so it is waiting on me when I get home.

Take it easy guys, I am going to go back up to the room and hit the hay.

We just rolled in from our trip. It rained non stop yesterday when we were at Sea World. We actually had to throw away my daughters shoes this morning because the stunk to bad. It was awful. I am just glad to be home to seep in my own bed. I hope to pour the foam tomorrow of the next day.

Sorry your trip was ruined. Same thing happened to me; we were out camping at Lake Ray Roberts when the rain hit.
Good luck with the foam pour; I'll be interested to see how it works. That is a good idea for adding flotation in the stern where you need it.

I poured it tonight. All went well, and I am editing the video and pictures now. It is a really long winded video this time, so I am apologizing now.

Alright. I finally had some time tonight to get the foam poured. As you will see in the video teh top of the bins are open and you can see the foam. I am thinking about cutting off the foam and gluing in some more pink stuff to finish it off. Tell me what you think.

Anyway, I called John at Aero Marine http://www.jgreer.com/boat-foam.htm (thanks for the referral arch) and he walked me through all of the steps and pitfalls to watch out for. I ask a ton of questions and he was patient and thorough with me. I decided to get the 2 gallon kit that yielded 8 cubic feet, and i think I got all but one cube in the boat. The stuff was really easy to work with and had no odor at all.

Funny thing. Once I finished the pour my wife came outside and looked at it and said " ok now I am ready to go boating". She just wants to make sure we will not go to the bottom.

Here are the videos.

Hey Frisco, glad Areo could help you out. They really helped me out on Miss Morgan...I was a little timid with it at first, but after a few pours I got really comfortable with the foam. Thanks for the great video, I'm sure it will help a lot of people out! Looks great, can't wait to see it this summer!

Looks great Jay...I am thinking that I am going to have to replace my foam as well. As I have pulled everything out to repaint. I have noticed the plywood encasing the foam by the stern is severly rotted. I am going to replace the stringers and decking this winter so will probably repeat most of the steps you have taken. Looking good!! Thanks for all the info.:)

The rot was the main reason I did not use the wood to encase the foam.

So do you guys think I should shave off the foam on top and glue another piece of foam on top?

You know your gonna do it! Anyway it will look so much neater than seeing that overlow of foam when all you need to do is cap it and have a seable shelf for odds and end's. As usual looks great and very good idea. So what's next besides getter her wet numerous times?

I think bob did some test and figured out that lets the foam absorb water....but that is coming from memory. Of course if you encase it in glass, it shouldn't be an issue. It would look a lot cleaner.... but then who is really going to see it. I would do it, but then again I'm the guy who spends hours looking for minor chips to fill on the bottom of my boat! Can't wait to see her this summer!:D
