I know I have the bug for sure. The jetski is nice due to the fact it is small and does not take up that much space.

The good think is that my wife just lets me do it.

Yes the color is terrible, but that is why I love it!!!!! I love retro things, hence my 80's-lishous boat.

So I stopped work on the Jetski today to Tint the windows on the boat. I think they came out nice.

Great info on the window tint. I was planning on doing mine as well. I'm hoping not to go as dark but it's hard to find in this neck of the woods. Mine too will have no other purpose except for looks. Great video too, Jay. This will definitely help me with mine.

Hey Frisco, the tint looks nice! That reminds me of high school when we all used to tint our windows! That stuff can be a pain on curved windows! Looks real slick, nice video.

I love the tint. Looks covert like the DEA Cars! Great videos too. I don't know much about 2 stroke, but keep them coming. I'm learning. I'd have to agree on the piston, who would be so sloppy to not double check the wall clearance before putting it in?

Nice video on the tinting. You know you take a lot for granted in your video, You forget we are not all young and may not have teeth..
Just kidding again of course.
The tint really looks good.
When you finish the ski, you will have to get a real project.

Jay, you need to talk to my friend Brian about that polaris. He has 6 old Polaris and 3 are now running with engines he rebuilt himself. He also has that same hull you have but is putting a 1200 motor in it (4th ski).

It is a good idea to run compression checks often and make sure the carbs are working properly to prevent burning the motor up.

Frisco,

Just FYI, I have had 3 Polaris Jet Ski's, any year 1995 and below has a problem with the single outlet fuel pump with them feeding gas from the rear carb thru the second and then to the front when the fuel pump gets older and loses fuel pressure it will lean out the front cylinder. I would strongly recommend getting the triple outlet fuel pump from Mikuni (PN: DF52-92) so each carb has its own line of fuel. Polaris finally fixed this in 1996, other than that they are a good ski. I didn't see it mentioned already so just wanted to make sure you knew. The fuel pump is alot cheaper than a piston!

We did not make it out this weekend. My son decided to get really sick and we have been home bound. I think the water is still pretty chilly.

I have been bad. I have not had time to visit the forums much this week. I was thrashing away on this Jet Ski until the wee hours of the morning every night this week. I am proud to say that it is finished. We took it out on the lake yesterday and had a blast. This thing will be perfect for those windy days and I do not want to risk hurting the boat. I had forgotten how much fun these things were.
