Re: 81 Sea Ray 26 Sedan Bridge I/O to OB Conversion/Restore (Pics)
Thanks ondarvr. I'll play with the 1.8 tip and send the 2.5 tip back and see if they have one that will fit the pressure pot (diameter o the threaded base was too small). I have Patchaid, but I assume the 2.5 tip would let me thin the gel coat less.
The other question was about the air input adjustment build into the gun. Since I was told I needed a cheater valve at the inlet to the gun, I was wandering if the built in adjustment replaces the need for the cheater valve.
Sea ya...
I typically use the air adjustment valve (cheater) on all my spay guns, its easier to adjust it at the gun even if there is another one at the pressure pot. If yours came with one on the gun then you don't need another one.
You should be able to use a 1.8, but it will be a bit slow, using patchaid or small amounts of other things will help.
Try several different gel coat mixes through the gun before catalyzing any gel coat so you can fine tune it, or find out you need to wait for a larger tip.
