Re: '86 Aluminum Starcraft Restoration
Well I'll tell ya, vinyl may not be as cushiony under the feet... but I don't even miss that part because the vinyl is so much better in every other way.
It sheds water instead of absorbing and holding it.
It looks like carpet until you get up real close and touch it.
It's a lot less stressful having vinyl instead of carpet in a boat. I used to cringe everytime someone dropped a fish on my carpet, and I wanted to beat them to death when they dropped a catfish on my carpet (with the catfish), I could almost cry when someone would deep hook a fish and the fish bled all over the carpet, spilled cokes on the carpet made me want to shoot someone, red clay mud tracked in on the carpet was grounds for a lynching!... but none of that bothers me now, the vinyl cleans up super fast and easy and red clay mud and dried fish blood doesn't even stain it. Now the only thing that bothers me is when my buddy Lester lays a live fish on his pedestal seat instead of throwing it in the livewell while he rebaits his hook. ... he claims he wipes the seat off with his butt when he sits back down.
I'll never go back to a carpeted deck.
