Youch that impeller is wasted, I sure hope chunks of it aren't up inside the power head stuck. You might think about pulling the t-stat and back flushing before you put the LU back on.

Don't know about the merc but I've done 2 and 3 cyl Johnnyrudes and the 3 cyl was WAY easier.

Before I took it apart there were lots of big pieces behind the water pickup screen where you put the muffs.

Motor running with complete new pump housings o'rings and gaskets.. still not happy with pee..ummm. stripe painted but tape not removed yet, it needs one more coat of white then the registration numbers go on.. but now we got 4" of snow and 20 degrees so that's on hold for a few days.

Wonder if it's sucking a bunch of air(exhaust bubbles) and that's why you getting a poor stream.

Weather has me down too keep getting 60?-70? days when I got work then 40?-50? on my days off. Summer will be here soon though.

Yeap that and the bucket is too low on the LU, it needs more water over the pump when not underway as it is the pump will be gulping air.

Thanks Guys, I was going to use my muffs but I dropped them and the hose connection on the muffs broke and did not want to run to the store and kill an hour so the barrel was my only option. thanks again.

Job well done it looks great!

Good luck, and hoping for great weather for you for tomorrow.

Seeing your floor has me considering AL for the Jet floor did you go with the 1/8" and how does it feel (sag) walking around on it?

TDF yes 1/8"AL feels fine. the foam under the floor helps support between stringers and I did not skimp on rivets, I'm 220 and its fine, I added 2 extra layers under the seats and drilled and tapped the floor to mount the seats.

Awesome, I love seeing the born again tin go for a splash! Thanks for the ride along, looks like she handles the chop perfectly too. Sharp truck too BTW!

On the motor issue did you check your fuel tank vent? Did the primer bulb go flaccid on you?

Thanks watermann, thought of that afterwards.. Gas line and bulb is all new as is the tank vent, also though the fuel pump diaphram was shot.
When I got home I ran it on muffs and still ran rough at idle but not as bad as when loading on trailer and no staling. I had to pump the bulb more than normal, I pulled the plugs and all 3 were wet.

She did run through the chop smooth and handled great.. 34 mph against the tide and current

I think I found the problem, I rebuilt the fuel pump but the old one looked fine, actually looked fairly new.. 7 bucks oh well peace of mind... started it up and let it run on muffs and still was rough, so I just let it run and looked around, then I found the problem the gas line to the motor, the clamp was broken and the line was loose and sucking air, through the cheap china crap out and found a made in usa clamp that you can tighten. Going to test it tomorrow afternoon.
