Re: aaaand so it begins - starcraft rebuild
I'm back, everyone. My project has seen some major progress since my last update. Here is a link to my photo album.

For you guys following me last year, you'll recognize where to pick up. I'm not finished yet, and she's a little rough around the edges. I was under the gun to get it ready for spring fishing this year. but, she's functional and (mostly done). I made some design changes. I axed replacing the original casting deck. Having those tall gunnels helps with maintaining your composure when casting from the bow in rough conditions. I moved the gas tank from in front of the console to under the bench. I wanted to keep as much free space up front as possible. Worked out pretty well.
I'm still running the ole Johnson. Since messing with the lower unit last year, she's been trouble-free. Trailer needs constant attention - seems I lose a freakin' roller almost every time I launch.
The "Baron" and I have had some great adventures so far this year. I took a solo trip around Race Point and down the backside of the cape, where I had a number of shots into busting tuna (something I didn't think I'd be able to do in my boat, but these fish were in close). I've had whales three rod lengths in front of the bow. (lemme tell ya, THAT gets your attention). Been doing well in Narragansett bay - there are some fish photos from May in my album. I'm taking care of odds and ends and waiting on the fall fishing to pick up - with visions of false albacore, bonito, and big stripers in my head.
Sorry I dropped off the grid for awhile there. Just wanted to give you guys the update.
