Re: AeroCraft York 1960ish Transom, Stringers, Deck

Saturday cold rain cloudy not much happening. Managed to cut out cardboard patterns for the bulk head-deck fastener pieces.
I cut 3/4 ply then doubled them up and glued them. I will install the first row 4 feet on center from the transom, so the seem of ply decking will land on them. I will work today wetting them out with resin. Wrap in csm, then PB the in the boat and tab them in to finish.
Hope to have more agreeable weather today!

Fingers crossed for better weather. You're making great progress SBB.

Have you given any thought to a floatation plan?

Thanks TDF it was a perfect October day. It started out 37 degrees this AM, and warmed up in the mid 60s.

I figured I'd put as much blue or pink board I could fit under the deck, and in the spring I will figure out where I can put more in the cap.

This morning the braces were ruffed in with the grinder, and wetted out with resin.

They were then wrapped in csm, it was now afternoon, so while waiting for the resin to kick I drank some brews.

next the braces were trimmed to get the excess csm off.

then the braces were bedded to the hull with peanut butter! I will need to add two more toward the front of the boat and that should complete the cross braces. Next the strings need to be tabbed in with csm and 1708 and we can start the deck. It was a good weekend!!!

+1 on the brewskee time'

Doing a great job and moving fast. It won't be long and there be a deck in your boat.

The stringers in the bow were glassed in csm, 1708, csm, 1708 man that's time consuming.

over the weekend I was able to get more of the stringers glassed in and the first layer of 1708 on the transom. there are a few bubbles that need to be ground out but overall not bad.

The UPS truck came and dropped a package. I am excited about the new windshield.

Lookin' good! Does it matters if you use pressure treated wood vs. non-pressure treated? Can the chemicals that preserve the wood have an unintended reaction with the resin and/or glass? Just curious.
