Re: Alberto Gonzales: iboats No Confidence Poll

I wasn't going to say much here and just sit back and see the results, but since it was brought up I have to chime in about the Congress and the Senate low approval ratings and I'll tell you why they are. Because "Impeachment is off the table".

Please pardon my drifting off-subject.

I think we have touched upon the real reason for the low numbers. the democrats have done nothing for the country for quite a while even as they have taken over the house and senate. They only pursued their fixation for getting vengeance on President Bush. How dare he stand up to them. How dare he win (I did say win) an election over the god-like (oops not referring to any specific deity, just an abstract one) Al Gore and then go on to WIN another election over John - integrity is my middle name - Kerry.

This whole impeachement thing is a perfect example. There is zero merit, but the dems keep throwing it out there hoping it will stick. Gonzales in under a witch hunt right now and the dems just want to know if he floats.

Scooter Libby is another example of the dems destruction. How much time and taxpayer dollars did we spend on that whole debacle. It seems to me that if they had followed the Sandy Burglar model, this would have been complete in days and nobody gets hurt. Best of all in this model nothing would touch our president.

I really wish our elected officials would do the job they are elected to do. Witch hunts, political wrangling, and playing hide the pork is not on the list.

Ummmm, say Willy.

Have you considered changing the title to "iboats' Vote of Confidence"?

So far, our AG has a lot higher rating than Congress.

Fie, Willy!

"Congress" includes the Senate AND the House of Representatives.

We agree on no confidence, though. :)

Ah yes the plot thickens, add to the list, a former nominee to the Supreme Court. Hopefully her memory is better then Gonzo,s.

http://cbs2.com/national/topstories_story_164101644.html

<< (CBS News) WASHINGTON Two congressional committees are issuing subpoenas for testimony from former White House counsel Harriet Miers and former political director Sara Taylor on their roles in the firings of eight federal prosecutors, according to two officials familiar with the investigation.>>

<< The subpoenas come a day after newly-released Justice Department documents revealed that Taylor was closely involved in the firings. In a Feb. 16 e-mail, Taylor described a U.S. attorney in Arkansas who was fired last year as "lazy" ? "which is why we got rid of him in the first place," according to the documents.>>

,,<< It's the first time during the five-month investigation that Congress is compelling testimony from White House insiders over the firings. Not yet on the subpoena list is President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, but only because Democrats have not yet finished interviewing those below him, the officials said.>>

I guess I stand corrected, JB. I always thought Congress = the House. And that Congress + Senate = Legislative Branch. So Congress = Legislative Branch? OK. Ya learn something new every day. :)

Of course, you know what the opposite of PROgress is...but I DIgress. This is supposed to be about GONZALes. ;)

Normally I vote for my Daddy and Granddaddy. They're both long gone, but I vote 'em the way they'd want me to.

I've got lots of confidence in Gonzales. I know he will do what Rove tells him, no matter what.

As far as congress goes, they were supposed to stop this war in Iraq. So far, they have failed to do so.

How? With a magic wand? Absolutely flippin' ludicrous. Campaign, political gibberish and you were caught hook line and sinker . . .

What is more noble? Going in, on what you believe was a false premise, and then getting up and leaving after you broke it? Or . . . Fixing your mess? ( I am taking your position that we should not have been there in the first place for this ridiculously simple question . . .)

I had no illusions congress was going to stop this war, QC. Perhaps some did, but not me.
It will end eventually, but with the next president, and not with this one. At least we are getting some accountability. I am sorry so many of our kids are dying over this folly.
And it will stop being a mess when the Iraqis decide they want the mess to stop, and not before. So far the Shia majority over there think they are winning this war, and why would they reconcile with the Sunnis? The mid east tradition over the centuries is that the winner gets the spoils, and the losers get slaughtered. Why would we expect them to break with tradition?

And deported at gunpoint (little Gonzolas boy) by her as well.

Yeah, Miami does not have enough Cubans......;)
I want to see the 'Anchor Baby' loophole go away!.....
I'd also like to see a law that says if you are illegally in this country & get caught, that you will be immediately deported & can never apply for citizenship or re-enter this country......;)
