Re: Am I a Dork

Last week I worked from home on friday so I worked out of the boat since we were going out that weekend.

HMMM, my WIFI reaches the boat, maybe I'll sit in the bow with my laptop and just enjoy... Great idea.

in the boat, in the driveway, with the laptop? Now we're getting into Pro level dorkiness!
Hey but whatever floats your boat.
I just keep thinking about what if the chock comes loose and you go motoring down the driveway and into the street..making motor and brake noises? Thrownig the throttle lever in hard reverse?

Welcome to "Dry Boaters Anonymous"! Let me start by saying Hello, and my name is Pokertrampp

Hi Pokertrampp, my name is Joe, I've recently been diagnosed with "Dry Boaters Disease". Is there a cure or do we need a Tele - A - Thon?

yes you might be a dork. but not from sitting in the boat. but maybe for not having a fast witty comeback to yell at your neighbor. i think that's whats got ya miffed. ;)

You know Scutly, after I came in the house I thought of some great comebacks, figures!!! My only defense is I was so much enjoying the evening on my boat that my sarcastic nature was not functioning.

OK, all you guys that voted "no" are fooling yourselves. Nothing wrong with sitting in the boat in the driveway, but it is a dorky thing to do. I've done it too, and I voted "yes". The main thing you have to remember is that when you get hot you can't do a big cannonball out of the boat or you'll have a very sore butt. Great thread.

I live in Middletown/Bear, DE (near C+D Canal) area. Where ya located? Maybe I can drive by and give eyewitness accounts of whether you have reached 'dork' levels.

There are some cool ways to sit in the boat. E.G., Grab some tools and a brewskie and act like you are doing something meaningful!

Yes. You sir, are an absolute dork! So am I. So is everyone reading and posting here. If we weren't dorks we wouldn't be splitting our spare time between iboats and boat boats. You know what they say. Admitting you have a problem is the first step........... Hi. I'm Luke, and I have a boating problem............Hi Luke.;)

Re: Am I a Dork

I soon will be a Dork as well. I have told myself that I will probably wind up sitting in my boat in my driveway after towing her home drinking a beer or a few dreaming about getting her in the water the next day.

So i am going to enroll in "Land Boaters Anonymous" in advance of buying my boat.

I would have told your neighbor "You wanna be dorks together? Come aboard and have a beer."

You are the biggest dork around..and probably go to Wheenie Hut Juniors for a steamed wheenie ...(sponge Bob Square Pants)

The way I see it..there are leaders and there are followers... your neighbor will be getting his own dork mobile pretty soon!!

PS..drop the anchor, but be sure you hit the grass..dont want to mess up the driveway!

Rock on!!

Re: Am I a Dork

To cover my dorkyness I always make sure I have my boat cleaning stuff out while "dry docked". You should have offered to take your neibour Dry land wakeboarding, better yet, barefooting. I have to leave my boat at the lake, so I do not get to make the neibours scratch their heads, although they would probably end up coming aboard for a cold one or two and it would probably turn into one of those nights that everyone talks about for years, "remember when Henry dove off of the boat in the driveway kind of thing". LOL

Its your neighbor thats the dork. Every street has one. I'll bet he's the guy who lets his dog roam so it can poop on everybody else's lawn.

No, you're not a dork. And if my bneighbor has a comment for me when I sit in my boat relaxing, I'll just break out the casting rod and throw an 8 oz sinker with a 10/0 J hook and start practicing my cast in his direction :p:p

Re: Am I a Dork

LOL love this thread.

Yes you are a dork....I have been a dork too, many times. Nothing wrong with it. I would rather be a dork having fun doing what I want than cower in the garage worrying what the neighbors think.

Just remember one thing......its only wrong if your wearing a speedo!

That rule can be bent at the lake....sometimes...in very special circumstances...but never ever ever on land.

I think the ocean spray is a great idea.....and I think motor noises adds to the realistic experience as well, heck screw making noises, hook up the muffs and fire it up! Call a friend, have them back their boat in next to yours, tie em off together, and throw a party. HAHA

On another note, how many people here know that a dork is really a whale *****? Google it if you don't believe me. Keep that in the back of your mind for the next time your neighbor yells at ya and you need to come up with a witty statement.

Re: Am I a Dork

On our way back from the lake last week, we passed a drive-in theater. I told the wife and kids that we should pull in. We could all sit in the boat and watch the movie.:D Yes, I may be a dork, but I'm a happy dork.
