On our way back from the lake last week, we passed a drive-in theater. I told the wife and kids that we should pull in. We could all sit in the boat and watch the movie. Yes, I may be a dork, but I'm a happy dork.

If you actually hitch up the boat solely to go to the drive up, then you sir are a real man of genious!!

I do it all the time. I do the engine noise's & everything. I want the "retards" that live around me to think I'm a nut bag. This way they never bother me with stupid crap. I don't even know what their names are, & don't care. So I say, Jack up the show, make them think your crazy. It pay's off in the long run.......

I do the same, but at least I have my cleaning supplies on board with me. That way if someone sees me I can look busy cleaning. LOL! But really I'm just chillin.

Great, now I really feel the dork-ness upon me, I know this reference VERY well.

OOOPS! I misread the question thought it was saying "I" am a dork... soooo I really answered the question lol..... Yeah my wife snapped a pic of me sitting in the boat reading the service manual (the boat in the driveway of course).... I looked up just in time to for the shutter it created a very sad look on my face she posted it on her facebook got lots of "nice" comments

We've actually done this. Didn't call them over though. We all got off the river, went to my place for the ritual "after boating party". My buddy parked his pontoon and my other bud put his bowrider next to it. I thought, heck ya! Pulled mine on the other side of the toon and partied in the yard the rest of the night.

We could not decide if we were rednecks or hillbillies, but now I know, we're just dorks who need to join "land boaters annonymous"

Yes I too can hear the song playing in my head now. OH to have my next beer MMMM it is going to taste so good especially while sitting in my boat. Where I am i cant have any.

On a more serious note - I call that puttering. As in, sitting in your boat, letting your mind wander while looking at something - the best ideas will come to mind about a way to fix something, or a new reno, or a way to spend more money!

It's like, every time I spend time in my garage (hiding from my wife), I usually find a better way to put something away, or tackle something that's been sitting on my bench collecting dusty.

I _love_ sitting in my boat.

Which reminds me, I need to look for a bimini that fits my tower....
