The Somali Pirates (sound's almost like a baseball team) hunt in groups of a dozen or more. They carry RPG's, machine guns etc.

One cannot protect your own small ship from these, go-getters.

Fire on them and they will kill you and shink your ship, without even missing lunch.

There are several examples of people fighting off the pirates. In these links, there is examples of cruise ships fighting off pirates with high pressure water hoses, people with small arms, and one confirmed case where a flare gun was fired at the pirates skiff setting it on fire.

From what Ive gathered,pirates of lore were scoundrels, but they had dignity and a loose code of ethics that gave order to their chaos, and made them successful for a while.These guys give all pirates a black eye,I wouldnt want to be on the ocean w that hanging over me.
