Re: Another Florida Summer Roundup

I've been following you guys quietly and am really getting antzy to start traveling. As far plans are to depart Port of Saford January 1,2012 and head south. I love St. Augustine and look forward to looking your place up when we get down there. Maybe we can make a roundup sometime. I am moved to write this because my husband is a beer tester, too. Loves new blends and home breweries. Have fun you folks and look for the Home Stone on the move after January.
Later, First Mate Carole and Captain Skip.. If not green today, when?:)

FirstMate Carole...glad to have you here! Where in Sanford are you located? I usually keep our boat in Monroe Harbor Marina, although we are currently in Daytona for the summer. We bring the boat around every year and head back in the fall. You already missed a nice meet & greet in St. Augustine in June (not sure if you caught the thread), but `obviously`another happening next month.

It will be tought to head south from Sanford...you'll make it to the south end of the lake and have to turn around! I hope you're heading to Jax first! PM me if you haven't made the trip before and I'll give you some pointers on what to look out for.

But that is only about 4 to 5 hours away from you, you could make a day trip of it and see the sites while you were at it. :D I would have thought he could special order it, but then it is alcohol and there are all kinds of rules on that stuff that prevent doing what you want to. :(

I could head to GA, nlain, but that would be some expensive beer! Maybe I could ride my bike.

I thought he could order it too. He says he is unable at this time....but give him a couple weeks and it may happen. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed as they already are for something else more important at this time.

Have you guys/gals tried the Wild Blue Ale? It's actually purple and made from half wine and half ale. ...kind of an acquired taste...

Maybe I'll bring some along to see whos game. The first 12 take a bit of getting used to. After that, you really don't care...

I have a hard time drinking any kind of alcohol that is purple. When I was in the AF years ago I drank a handfull of purple drinks. I don't need to go into detail.

I'll look it up, veritas honus. I don't recall ever having one. I'm pretty sure I can find it. If the big store that carries hundreds of beers doesn't carry it, I have a place that will order me anything I want. I will gladly give it a try.

Your gonna LOVE it!!!:D

I just goodled your Fat Tire Ranger IPA beverage, it is a product of New Belgium Brewing, check this link, http://www.newbelgium.com/beer/finder.aspx?nbbid=303 , it is not in FL at this time, all over Ga.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out...

Well, nlain. My guy in town can get me any beer I've ever wanted.

I gave him a call....and gave him the name. He recognized the beer instantly and knew the brewery.

He said I can get all I want........but I have to drive to GA to get it!

Fail......

Bring it on, veritas honus!

Well, that was just mean of him!!! I'll bring it!!!

Sounds interesting. I love a good red wine (dry); and you know how I love beer... I've drank (drunk?... Probably) both in the same night plenty of times, but never in the same glass, together... I'll certainly give it a try. Bring it!!! The line about after the first twelve... Have you ever met anyone who didn't like you???:)

Well, start heading south in September!!! Join the party!!! We'll be waiting at the tiki hut for you or your husband to toss us the dock lines.

Alright, there's a lot to respond to with this one, so forgive me I I get lost in it... I'll give him almost a month!!!

First off... What's more important than beer??? Surely you have a couple fingers available to cross...

The purple drinks... We'll have to save that talk for the tiki hut...

Home Stone... Hopefully as far south as nettles Island... In September!!!

Since I haven't been very active in this thread, I do have a question.

Any good hotels on A1A close to a ramp/marina?
It's a short (by florida standards) drive across the state under okeechokee to the other side.

Guess I better give the trailer the once over..Oh, make sure the boats running good..lol
BTW..43 year old 18 foot runabout barge..not the prettiest boat going I am sure..

We have a ramp right here at the marina, Kev. How many are with you? I can find something right here within walking distance. So far I have a few places lined up either for free or I bartered for them.

I have (uh...my lady) an old Penn Yan Sportfish that may win the roughest boat contest. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Bring her on and hope to see you!

Bring that barge! It doesn't have to be the prettiest girl at the dance, she just has to be there!

Now the other question is: Do I bring 2 Jet Skis?!?

What's this about a boat visiting cows? I think we need to hear about this one from the horse's mouth...:p Come on Kev, spill it. Nlain is correct. None of us will judge you... We may bring it up for years to come, but judge you... Nah.;)

^^^WOW!!!^^^

I read the first page of the thread (I'll read the rest another time.) Thank the Good Lord for SO many things with that incident. The comeback about the halibut was brilliant.;) That may have actually earned you some slack at the tiki hut!!! I'm glad no one was hurt. I guess you've already utilized this experience as inspiration for enhanced safety checks. Glad everything went as well at it did.

Whatever floats your boat.Kev.......The closest hotel is 5 miles away....the Meriott at Indian River Plantation. Kinda like a resort.

If ya don't mind spending the night in a classy dive...We will set you up.

Bring that barge! It doesn't have to be the prettiest girl at the dance, she just has to be there!

Amen.....and yes. Absolutely bring 'em on, Fireman. We have a good protected area for them if you wish. You and the Mrs. may enjoy a exploration! ;)

No one will judge you in this group, they/we are all good people. You think the other group was fun, you ain't seen nuttin yet.

That's quie a complement, nlain! I am proud you are in it with us. What an easy-going friend you are...that you and yours go with the flow. Anxious to see you soon.:D

Nlain is correct. None of us will judge you... We may bring it up for years to come, but judge you... Nah.

Yup! veritas honus is correct. Let's make some more memories.

Maybe we should plan one thing. Food for the barbie on Saturday. I'm thinking we can all bring a favorite for the grill....cook it up...and eat whenever we feel like it. Whatcha think?

On another note. For the heck of it I Googled images of "sasto" (Some Are Sicker Than Others). My photo came up. Dang! I really do need help!

Sounds like a plan. I may even bring an electric smoker in case we want to toss a few birds or fish on it!
