What's wrong with tomorrow?
You, sir... are one EXTREMELY cool individual!!!

Oh... And I ABSOLUTEly agree with sasto... Nothing, Fireman!!!

Regarding the trip back around to Sanford, I can do that one with less than a week's notice. Only Mrs. Fireman needs to arrange time off from work (hack, hack, cough, cough...to sick to come in...)

Hell, VH...arrange something in your neck of the woods. It's all dry roads 'twixt here and there...we'll be there! Gauranteed!

Shoot...let's all do some driving and make it a Keys trip!
I'm making some good progress with the house. I'm kinda on a roll now. When the homestead is closer to being finished, I'd love to have you guys over. I've only got one guest bedroom, but the sunroom which will be complete not too long from now is 900 square feet, and will have it's own 3/4 bath, and a small kitchen area... no stove nor oven, everything else, though. There'll be plenty of room for a couple of couples to sleep there.

I'm all in for a trip to the Keys in the future, but I don't think it's going to be within the realm of possibility this year.:(

As to the best time for me to attend, well at this time I work the first Saturday of every month, that weekend is out, the rest of them for St Augustine/Jacksonville Fl would pretty much work for me. Close enough if I brought the boys they would not have to miss school for a weekend trip, as long as the money holds out.

Now, Swabbie, I went to Google maps, Carbondale to St Augustine is only 14 hrs 8 mins away from you. I will have to say that is quite a drive, I would want a little more than a weekend.
1st weekend of each month is out, huh? That leaves us only 3 weekends per month, and 4 weekends every 4th month... Well, I think yer pushin' it, pal, but since it's you... I think we'd all agree to find a way to eliminate the first weekend of each month as a scheduling possibility. A whole weekend... Every month... The same one... I have a feeling we can all work with that.:D

Hey Everyone! Hope that you don't mind one of the "upper Chesapeake" guys posting in your thread I have been watching this thread for awhile and having a hard to keeping up sometimes

When I saw Firemans statement above it really got my attention! I have only been to the keys once about 10 years ago for just a couple days but I can't wait to get back there someday. If you guys seriously plan a Keys trip sometime, I may just have to jump on a plane on join you guys!

Hope that you have a great September gathering!!!
Happy to have aboard, Crabber!!! I'll be looking forward to meeting you!!!

Welcome Blue Crabber! Anytime anyone wants to make a quick Keys run, we're there! We have stayed everywhere from Largo to Key West (...OMG...the Duval Crawl!!!)

Looe Key is a great place for snorkeling, fishing, and not too far from the end. Pick a day and count us in!
You've got my interest peaked... What's the Duval Crawl? Splain me!!!

Thanks for the welcome guys!!! I would love to join you for September but the Admiral and I are headed out to Lake Powell for a houseboat rental for our 5th wedding anniversary during your gathering. Just cant be at 2 places at once.

Maybe next year though.
Happy Anniversary!!! (...In September!!!)

Uh...WTF??? Excuse me, but I represent that remark!! :D

Oh. by the way...it's not just me who was drinking vodka straight from the bottle....Sasto...where ya at, my man???...Speak up!
I must agree, Fireman... I think you are a wonderful representative of that remark!!!:p

When was vodka being drank... dranken... drunk... drunked... Oh whatever... When was vodka bypassing the glass for the gullet? I do not recall this event. Was I not involved... And if not... Why was I not involved in such activities??? Did this take place at the beach house and I simply don't remember? Or was it on the dock at the marina?... On your boat, Fireman? What the heck?:D

The Duval Crawl! From one end of Duval Street (the main street running thru the center of town) to the other, you?ll find bars to fit every personality and every mood. From the anything goes joint (The Bull & Whistle; The Garden of Eden---clothing optional!) to the elegant piano bar, Duval Street bars cover the gamut of entertainment and nightlife in Key West. There is even the "Smallest bar in the world". It is a covered alleyway with a 4' long bar and two barstools! There are more drinking establishments on this street than anything else it seems, which we bar hop all day long and never visit the same bar twice. The main objective is to have a drink in each one of them in 24 hours. Hence the "crawl".

You can party it up, jump from bar to bar, and never ever step foot in a car. It?s all done on foot, safely thank goodness. You can hop, jump, or crawl between such a diverse set of bars you?ll feel like you?re at the Epcot Center of bars?a new flavor every few steps.

You can hit famous places like Capt. Tony's saloon (with the tree growing thru it and the real skeleton behind the bar), Sloppy Joe's, Hog's Breath Saloon, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Fat Tuesdays, Irish Kevins, yadda, yadda, yadda. Truly a great place to test the metal of your body's filter!

I think that was when we all left the beach house on the way back to the boat. Donna was driving, thank goodness! You were there...in spirit! Or is it spirits?!?

Buying??? What are you buying? All of the bullpucky we've been throwing around?

Hopefully you're reading what I was posting while you were posting...:)

What do you think?... Is next year enough notice?.. Spring, summer? Let's see what we can get going.

Fireman will chime in soon and say, "What's wrong with next week?" Don't worry, though, he'll come up with some brilliant way of convincing himself that next year is only a week away before any of us can finish telling him, "It's not actually a whole year away.";)

Fireman, I'm taking full advantage of your discovery of the fountain of youth!!!:D
I'm buying lots of ABSOLUTE.

The school calender is easy, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break and Summer.
Thanks to the Captain no summer vacation for us...he "lured" us to the Caribbean in the winter. Now he is trying to lure us there again.

Now, Swabbie, I went to Google maps, Carbondale to St Augustine is only 14 hrs 8 mins away from you. I will have to say that is quite a drive, I would want a little more than a weekend.
If we come we will fly. ;)

How about your next Carib vacation take place at the Rum Cay, Bahamas Marina. Another favorite little hideaway of mine. We will be glad to join you. We can catch a puddle jumper from Nassau.
Oh, your a devil aren't you. :D

Probably so, Swabbie, but I'm just trying to help you get your priorities straight!

I'm getting the bug again to return to the sealife, but that's beside the point.

We installed a stereo system in our tiki hut and repaired the ice machine. The old fridge is working well to keep food and beverages fresh and cold. Our big grill is being cleaned and will be ready. Fish are biting all around the dock.

Us boaters practically run the marina...so no problem with management in whatever we do. The tiki is 10' from the ICW. If you want to fish, do so. We have snook, tarpon. seatrout, sheephead, sharks, ladyfish, catfish.........Dolphin playing and pelicans...well...doing their thing.

This island village was once a mangrove island turned into a campground. Many never returned home. Houses started being built a few years ago. The marina has an old Florida feel, not stuffy, and all are treated equally.

I hope all enjoy this place as we have...

I will take a look at that. Last year we missed the whales at Salt Cay, everyone wants to go back.
But, now that they know what a great "program director" I am they will follow me anywhere. :D

I believe it!!!:D It was a great night!!! I wish nlain and family had been there. If there had been a dock, Fireman's warning of my wife's liver jumping out and attacking seagulls may vey well have occured that night!!!:p

My wife and I have still not stopped talking about you guys, and that night!!! If your ears have been burning, though, you can't blame us... Nothing but great words about all of you and the times we had!!!:)

...And yes, we were with you in spirit (...and spirits!!!;)) during your ride back to the boat!!!
Did you drink the Lemonade?
Doubt it...:)

Re: Another Florida Summer Roundup

Hey everyone!!!

I've been out of touch for a week. I've been at home. I took off work for the week and got a bunch of work done on the house.

What's going on here!!!??? I've been gone a week and my post is still the last one!!!??? What's up with that!!!??? Well, at least I'm not the only slacker!!! Seriously, though, sorry I've been out of touch. Can't wait for September!!! I was just speaking with Fireman on the phone, and one of the first things he asked me was, "Is it September yet?" He's the same terriffic person in person as he is on this forum (...and on the phone!!!)

Can't wait to get together with you guys again!!! Sasto, nlain... Where are you? I miss "The Crew".

Oh quit your whinin. We are all here just busy doin other things just like you. :D I am hoping that all will work out for me to be there, doing everything I can to make it happen. Wife not working again, hope what she gets next will allow time off in Sept, we should be able to make it. I really want to be there and see that area, think the boys would enjoy it also, especially since they will be able to fish and maybe catch something. I would really like that. :D:D:D

Somehow I don't think she would see the humor in that. :D Course, who knows, she might just be glad to get rid of me for a few days. NOT.

Now this is what I'm talking about!!! "The Crew", together again!!!... If not in person, at least flingin' the words around the forum.:)

Fireman, I call'em as I see'em. Can't wait for the disc to arrive!!! Music means a lot to me. Not just the music itself, but the situations it went along with; especially in this case. That disc that you'd made, was not only full of all different kinds of music, but it was what was being played the whole time we were all together. There was enough varying good music to never become redundant, even after several days. Listening to that disc will bring my family and I right back to all the great times and moods we so enjoyed with all of you in St Augustine. Thank you, my friend. I want to thank all of you, from my family and I; for the times we had, and will have again!!!

Hey Bro... Just pulled this up and my phone beeped with a text message. I got the picture of where you're sitting. Wish I were there. The two pilings at 1 O'clock, looks like a seagull on top of the one on the left. It's hard to tell in the tiny picture on my flip phone.

What you're doing about accomodations for all of us is AWESOME!!! Thank you, my Friend!!!:D:D:D
