WOG, Wow looking good cannot wait to see seat completed. One more question I got the polyester thread almost ready to try the good vinyl should I put the spool vertical or horizonal or does it matter.
Or maybe WOG can come to my house and show me how to sew a curve...:glee:

Re: Another one...Upholstery

So here are some photos of my latest jobs

Golf Cart seats, had to use my heat gun alot on this one to form around all the curves

and this is an insert I am doing with the center console on a ford 4X4 truck...its going black with blue diamond weave for the interior, doing the writing free hand is no easy task, I took a rubbing of the For Logo off an old ford tractor, then transfered it to the vinyl so I could sew it

Feel your pain. SeaDoo seats are just as bad. Yup sometimes ya gotta lay a lil heat on em.

Re: Another one...Upholstery

the spool should be facing up, and thread should be ran through a guide above it, so the thread is removed from the top of the spool then sent down to the machine...

Amazon.com: Universal Cone and Spool Stand Alone Cast Iron Thread Stand: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

that was the spool stand I used on my singer, my commercial machines come with their own large spool stands.

Thanks once again will order stand almost ready to do the good stuff...

Slowly making progress on the ford seats...shorted myself material with a few mistakes I made during this job (complete custom so having to pattern)

anyhow at least I can show you what my concept on it was....hardest part is getting all of the diamond weave to line up from piece to piece...

Thanks, Will look pretty good once I get them done...I just thought I should show the context of how that ford stitching was going to be used...as always appreciate the compliments, without those I wouldn't have taken this foolish leap into a deep pond called business ownership....

Duck to water from the beginning w/ the upholstery.... Clearly a talent w/ the paint too though!

Good to see/hear it's going so well. Congrats on all accounts.

Finished the seats and door panels for the ford truck, have another pontoon in the shop to start soon after I finish another recliner that I should start monday...anyhow on to the fun pictures

door panels were plain jane, the one on right is original, I spruced them up with a fresh coat of SEM Color Coat Satin Black, then made the panels to insert into door and fastened them in

I know! I am not worthy! wing back chairs are a little trickier than recliners, but I am sure you could do one! hell if nothing else load it up and bring it out, we can do it in my shop, but this time I am billing you!

Judge your skills have just flourished! You do such awesome work. I might have to do what Woody did and come for a working weekend myself one these days.

Re: Another one...Upholstery

Just to keep in my tradition of derailing my threads, I have a couple pictures of this years pinewood car....being as busy as I am I could not devote much time this year so did not even bother with sanding and painting to perfection....my son picked a very interesting car, and just the carving of it took my "allotted" time

the engine and the helmet were both carved from a single piece of wood, carving the mane on the helmet by far the hardest part

Wish I had more time to make it a true masterpiece, but you know how life gets....in the way!
