Uni bits are great but can easily drill a bigger hole than your wanting, especially in aluminum. You might be better off using a standard bit, 1/4" or 5/16" or the metric equivalent.

Great project, keep it up.

Some progress this week end. Sander, wire wheel, 2 or 3 beers :)

This is my big problem. I will try to use this technic under the hull plus gluvit inside the hull. What do you think about this solution?

Am I forced to strip in full (white) or just sand would be ok? And what kind of sand paper 60 or 80?

The general condition of the hull is correct. No other problem occurred. I will not remove the brace behind so I'm looking the best and easiest solution. If you have any suggestions, please give me my other option :)

I tried those alum welding rods. Either they stink or my technique stinks. Or maybe both. I kept blowing out the base aluminum material as it would get too hot by the time the welding rod would start to flow. Also, the strength wasn't anything special either.

Just my findings anyway, your mileage may very;)

I know others may disagree, but I'd JB Weld it and call it a day. That area would be a pain in the butt to put a patch on.

I'm wondering if someone used the incorrect type of bottom paint at some point in the past which caused all that corrosion.

Do you think it could be a long term solution ? I expect anyway to continuously check this area to make sure everything is ok.

I keep stripping. Really big job! I have some questions for you

1 - Am I better to sand or scrape the white? To aluminum?
2 - Is it a good idea to make a seal around the bars under the boat with 3M 5200?
3 - To repair my transom, I'd better put a single sheet of aluminum on the outside or inside also?
4 - The wobble robble of the trailer are very dirty and stained with blue paint, do you know a good product to clean well?

I want to finish my stripping blue and white sand (if the right option) by the wek-end for my stick my aluminium sheet to the transom and also repair various leaks.

I finished removing the blue paint, finally. I decided to follow the advice of my Ezmodee and repair leaks from behind with JD Weld. I put a lot and see what it all will look tomorrow.

After some checking, I decided to sand the white. I'll start it this week. I also will try to stick my aluminum sheet.

This morning, the product was well seasoned. There was a small hole where the JD Weld had entered. So I added. I think it will make a beautiful job. In the sanding and bringing it smoother and with gluvt within, I should fix the problem permanently. thank you Ezmodee

By the way, welding rods with aluminum was not a success. I did not really wanting to try the belated JD Weld
