I got mine done on a 16' SS with 2 gallons total, one gal. resin and one gal. hardener.

How much you need will be a function of the quality of plywood. Expect to use less if you get marine grade ply, more if you get regular exterior grade ply, since there are more voids in the layers, which is filled with resin and thus uses more of it.

Hi Taggg, I just saw your restoration thread, looks like you jumped right in, and that is the hardest part of the battle. You will not be able to import any kind of liquid from the US, Canada customs won't allow it, so we have to find Canadian suppliers. There is a real good one in Windsor On. http://www.pridemarine.com/ That is where I purchaced a lot of my products and they were great to deal with. I used 5/8 " good one side fir plywood in my 16SS and it worked great and did not cause any problems with alignment of the councils. Make sure when you cut your floor pieces, dry fit them perfectly, then coat all the edges and flats.

I just got a 1968 Starcraft Holiday V - OB that I'm planning to take to Lac St-Jean for the Traverse in July 2011. I have pictures but I don't know how to start a thread.

Taggg the cleanup on the inside of the hull looks great, nice work.

I got my epoxy from clarkcraft as well and it's good stuff, just make sure you do twice as many coats on the edges as you think you need. The ply will drink it right up.

3 gallons should be plenty for the deck and the transom I'd imagine. I'm just now getting to rebuilding my transom. Keep up the good work.:)

Rich, welcome to the site, congrats on the new rig. Click on "start new thread" after you are in the restoration section and you can get your own started. Click on the link for the boat restoration forum on the top of the page.

Nice work Taggg. I assume when you rebuild your transom your going to use a solid sheet insead of those silly little corner pieces like they did.

I must admit that I'm proud of myself. I managed only to take off my transom. say it was a challenge for me, but done deal now lol. as you might expect, the wood is rotten and quite wet.

No sense worrying about the unknown. It wasn't that bad pulling the transom out was it. I was stressed about it and it turned out to be way easier than I thought.

The hull looks nice and clean now for sure.

Now, i have one question. What's the best solution for my transom ? Only one aluminium sheet inside or two and make they actual transom in "sandwich" ? And i use gluvit to fix it ?

thank you all for your help

I think if I were in your shoes tag...

I'd take one piece of aluminum, cut to fit the outside of your transom, back butter 3M 5200 with a notched trowel and bolt it on after you complete and install your transom board.

Solid and good as new!
