Re: Anybody looking for some Mary Jane?

I saw on national geographic that 1/2 of all mary jane used in the USA is raised on David Crockett Nat. Park in the Appalacian mountains. Don't think anyone will ever stop production. What about Canada and their laws? Check them out.

Its all just the big man trying to control the little man. If you watch history channel it was not made illegal because its bad for you. It was made illegal because there are so many things that can be made from it {including fuel for your car and plastics} that it would put a big hurt on a lot of different industrys. After all it makes a better paper than wood does.God put trees here to make air for us to breath not to cut down and use it for paper. And then the government discovered they could make a bunch of money from it being illegal. I didn't even know what mary jane was untill I got in the NAVY and that was 1975. I went to a hick school and grew up in the country. By the way, the VA gives me drug tests all the time to make sure I'm takeing my drugs and they don't say a thing about finding mary jane in my system. I guess they are afraid I'd sell my pain killers,,,LOL....ANIMAL :D P.S. Listen to Steppen Wolf "The Pusher Man" some time. The dealer just provides what you are looking for to start with and the pusher tryes to get you hooked on every thing. This would be a better country if they would exploit hemp instead of oil.

And I agree with you JRJ. Dope dealers are the scum of the earth but mary jane is not dope. It grows out of the ground and dope is made by man out of no telling what. One is a plant and one is a chemical. Besides if this was a truly free country nobody could tell you what you can do with your body....ANIMAL :D

Still not technically legal here.... but they're puching for it.

Personally I used it alot in highschool and for a while after. Then I realized that regardless of what I thought about it that there were no benefits to it at all. In fact studies show (overseas somewhere in Europe.. don't remember where...) that it doesn't even help with pain and suffering as much as the lobbyists want us to believe. I don;t use it anymore. It messed with my education there is no doubt about that.

I say decriminalize it... but I wouldn't say legalize it. God our youth is in enough troubles these day with doctors doping them up on pills for make-believe conditions like ADHD and OCD. Any more drugs in their system and they'd lose interest in booze!

HEMP is a legal crop. You can grow it. Canada has a thriving hemp industry but it hasn't caught on as well in the US (I think because of the stigma attached to it) But it's THC levels must be below a certain level. Hemp also makes a sad ethanol. Corn is better and sugarcane works best. In fact NA (North America) could grow sugar cane extremely cheap. Higher yeilds than corn in the same amount of area and less expensive to grow and cheaper on the market! Ask Brazil. In fact NA could import sugar cane from Brazil and it would STILL be only 30% of the cost of the corn.

But the corn farmers. Lots of them in NA. And they want their cut in a booming industry of alternative fuels. I say switch to sugar cane so I can get a dozen ears for $2 again! Then drop the price of Pepsi back down (high fructose CORN syrup costs made them increase) and let the price of tortillas (same increases) and the sugar cane ethanol business THRIVES!

But to reiterate. I do agree with you Animal. Hemp does make good products that COULD save a bunch of trees. So does recycled papers though. And I think steel is a better use for housing frames. Maybe then we'd stop shipping so much of it to China and keep it here where it belongs. But still not a reason to "legalize" pot. Utility hemp and da kronik are 2 different things :)
Actually this thread opens up all sorts of political debates. Kind of scary.

I still keep all my High Times though. Couldn't dare throw them in the recycling bin.

Coca leaves have to be process before it is cocaine, poppies have to be process before it is opium. MJ comes ready from the ground, the only human intervention need are pick it, pack it, roll it, light it.

You can eat Coca leaves right off the bush & raw opium comes right out of the bulbs, ther are refined into cocaine, morphine, heroin....;)

I heard that there was a group lobbying to make hemp easier to grow in the US. Technically, it is legal - however you will get a major hassle if you try. I think a permit is needed too. The problem is that it is difficult to distinguish between "good" hemp and "bad" hemp/weed.

It's kinda like growing tomatoes in your basement... You run a pretty good chance of having a group of people come to check the wares - with a warrant.

We don't grow it in the basement. We grow it up in the trees. Harder to spot and it keeps the rabbits and deer from eating it....ANIMAL :D

And besides that they {the cops} are driveing around with inferred cameras looking in our homes to see just what you are growing and doing. I have a friend who has a cousin that does just that so I know it's true. They can probbly do it from space also, just get a better picture from the street.....ANIMAL :D

Re: Anybody looking for some Mary Jane?

mary jane is not dope. It grows out of the ground and dope is made by man out of no telling what. One is a plant and one is a chemical.

I'm not seeing a distinction...

A chemical is a chemical - regardless of what process makes it. People smoka the weed for the chemical - not the plant. And the plant has been 'touched by man': selected/bred for better gathering of THC.

Higher octane Alcohols are 'not natural' either - yeast kills itself at around 14% alcohol ("wine" strain. Beer yeasts die at lower percentages). Wiskey, vodka, etc - are distilled. Or, in other terms: concentrated.

I would classify it more by *affect* on a person, and then MJ is not dope as it has much milder affects.

Besides if this was a truly free country nobody could tell you what you can do with your body....ANIMAL :D

"Free Country" is a relative term. There absolutely needs to be a balance between individual and society. Where that balance is - that's a philosopical/political/religious/etc. debate and changes over time in reaction to events/conditions.

If it were a truly free country - you wouldn't need insurance to drive a car, or a license to drive it. You could set bear traps for the niehbor's cats or dogs at will. Or just spray them all with "nair".

Re: Anybody looking for some Mary Jane?

This might sounded like a straight up conspiracy theory but if it was legalized then there wouldn't be any money to go around like when it was illegal. Those who are getting the most profit won't let it happen.

Haha! Worse than that. If it were legalized, then people could *sue* those getting the most profit.

They'd be in the same boat as the tobacco companies..

Yeah, that is a well known fact just like the biggest crash crop in the state of Kentucky is MJ. Also, the remote areas of our national parks in the Wyoming/Washington region are heavily cultivated too.

There's a type of beer drinkers called "hop heads" that go for the more hopped beers (Indian Pale Ale, etc) for the lupulin rush...
