I flipped mine in 4 days and drug it on carpeted bunks with NO ISSUES. But... she is a glasser. I'm not sure if that makes much of a difference.

It's exactly like EZ said..like a damn scratch off lottery ticket. I would have had a mess on that hull.

Glad my pain was (is) not in vain :p

The white on aluminum combo is so cool. Can't wait to see this one all put back together. I assume the top sides and interior stuff will all be white?

Exactly what EZ just said. Looks great! Can't wait to repo it! Don't you still owe me like, 32 cents? Lol!!! Seriously though, that boat is happy you bought it!

Wood, I went to your thread and the Flamingo looks awesome Buddy. I seriously can't thank you enough for the tips on mine.

EZ, your pain was not in vain my friend and I'm glad you spoke up. I know I would have had the same problems with that paint. Yup the top side and inner wall will be white and I'm hoping that ties it all together.

Keel, Thanks for checking in on me brother. I owe you way more than .32 cents. Selling it to me was a huge favor in my book. When she's done we'll square up.

Guys in case you haven't picked up on it. Keel sold me this rig in the Kalamazoo area and I gave him the link when I dragged him out of bed to pick it up. Truly a class guy and a new friend. How many people can you say sold you a boat that didn't BS you?

So I waited the 4 days and got it back on the trailer. Cleaned her up a bit and will Shark hide it this weekend. Here's the boat before being polished.

Man those polished sides will look awesome. I thought of doing that with mine but decided I am going to paint. I'm having second thoughts now .

I would have loved to polish my boat up as well but it had too many dings.

HA, Yeah.. I only polished the front bow and the rear when I got the Shark hide about 3 weeks ago to test it. I wanted to be sure it was the look I wanted. I stopped there because I knew I would be flipping and taping it off. Didn't want to waste the stuff. I'll be painting the top-side this weekend and hoping to polish the rest of the boat up.

You know ...I'm horrible when it comes to painting and dreaded having a boat that looked brushed or rolled. The next one I do I'm going practice with the sprayer until I get it right. Winging it with the paint would have been costly. The Shark hide was $59.99 and applied with a variable speed polisher so it was actually a pretty cheap way to go as well. Now we'll see if the protectant actually maintains the shine or if it looks like crap at the end of the season. If it does...I'll paint it.

Or they will run into him from the blinding glare .

When I'm done if someone gets too close......

Jas, thanks man...the cushions are still boxed up. I'll let you practice on mine whenever you get a chance:)

Lakelover ...you were dead on with the 4 day wait. No scratches.. no nicks from the flip. I really didn't want to wait until Sunday.

Wood, I can't wait to see the last coat on the Flamingo. I wonder how much it would cost to chrome it? :)

Thanks EZ, I can't wait either. I hope it looks good. I've even began tossing the idea around for a white 75hp Johnson added to this. The 90 VRO might stay on the Islander the guy has and just might be my next restore. I found one (75hp) on CL in great condition that would finish this off nicely.

JJacobs, Thanks brother. Cool boat, are those built in rod holders in the side supports??? The wheels in my head are spinning now...I'm glad you posted pics of the rig man. The best part about working on these is that no matter how long they sat or what's wrong with it..as long as the hull isn't torn up they can be reborn. Can't wait to see that project Jake. Keep me posted. Hey drop $20 on black 29 for me so we can pay for these projects.:)

Quick Dad, come up with a prototype for those sidewall rod holders.
