I picked up a 15 foot 1969 Starcraft tri-hull and am almost finished on a rebuild project. Can anyone tell me what model this boat is as there are no registration plates anywhere? My online research leads me to believe it's a Capri but I really don't know for certain. I have spent many hours online looking for information and photos with relatively little success. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the iboats.com forum! The members here are great and the experts, which I am not, can help you with any problem involving you boat, motor and trailer. One of the "Starmada" members should be along soon to give you some insight on exactly what you have there. FYI, they are kinda partial to the tinney versions but I think some will discuss glassers if they are Starcrafts. The "after" pictures of your boat look super. Care to share the details of how you made it look that way and the products used? Good luck!

Thanks. This has been a very intensive rebuild. It won't be a "10" but it will be close. When I have a little down time I will elaborate more on the rebuild. Suffice to say for now that a friend is guiding/assisting me since he has rebuilt four of his own boats. It's always a plus to have help from someone who has "been there and done that."

Welcome to iboats.

Looks like a 1970 TR-150

The Capri name/model wasn't introduced until 1972.

Nice job with the paint. Your work is paying off.

Thanks. The links you provided do indeed look like my boat. It could very well be that over time the information passed down was skewed by people that owned the boat. In the end they had to guess what the model was and the year of manufacture since the manufacturer's plate was missing. We have looked everywhere for clues and found nothing.

Re: Boat Model

I believe the Capri hulls had built in jump seats at the rear corners. The TR models did not. There's a lot more usable room in the TR models for this very reason. Both were good solid boats. I've owned several of both models over the years.

Read it, thanks. Good luck with the first splash! Recommend you do not take immediate family members with you for the first splash so you can concentrate on boat, motor and trailer issues only. However, a friend with trailer boating experience would be invaluable help.
